The ffxiv guild Bingo Bango and I are in is pretty close knit and I wish that didn't feel as rare as it did. Like every year we call one of the members Christmas week and she sings a carol in Spanish, send holiday cards to each other, etc.. It feels like a frozen-in-time kind of thing.

Also I'm trying really hard to not have a depressing holiday so for fun I've been trying to work my way through the vegan wings of Burlington. I didn't get very far because yesterday I ordered $7 worth of cauliflower wings and got, I think, all of the cauliflower in Vermont. I had it for lunch and dinner yesterday, and now lunch again today and it still feels like the box weighs five pounds. It's so much food and it's really really good cauliflower. Bingo Bango popped out for a distanced walk with her mom while I hack and cough so I'm trying to work up the energy to make scones for when she's back.

I didn't sleep, I cooked, my ex in law dinner was cancelled because one of the not great people showed up at their house with COVID (no one in my bubble was there but how selfish) so it's going to be tiny emotional support Christmas and orbmas. |

Kale and white bean soup tonight, veggie pot pie tomorrow, tofu coconut milk stew on Boxing Day. Scones and macaroons for dessert.

happy byobmas eve fellow orbs! infant mayo clinic could not give two shits about christmas yet and I’m pleased to have an extra reason to skip any sort of gathering at all. Instead, the three of us are hunkering down in the rain and snow and getting fat on secondhand venison and formula, as appropriate. |
