My guess would be that since the track is tilting to the left, the car will naturally drift in that direction and you need to apply right wheel to maintain centerline. But I'm definitely interested to hear from anyone better informed.

Why on earth right? He's in the right-hand lane and merging leftwards (even accounting for inversion etc), yet clearly he's pulling the wheel clockwise and right on tack. I can't figure it out for the life of me.
In theory, an unrolled loop looks like a very shallow S bend, like changing lanes. In that situation, you'd be pulling the steering wheel left and right an equal amount of time. In practice though, you can do the initial leftward turn on flat ground before the loop is entered but the rightward turn happens inside, theoretically starting at the top but with the dubious grip the wheels have there, it's best to start early.

Loops are off axis relative to the track but it's a bit hard to visualize without an experiment. Take a strip of paper and wrap it around a pen once, forming a loop. You'll see that the ends of the paper and the ends of the pen are not at a perpendicular angle to the ends of the pen.

Now listen to me children and I'll tell you of the legend of the Ninja
Something relevant I remember about race driving: to take a sharp corner fast you'll want to break hard just before the corner to throw the weight of the car onto the suspension of the front wheels. This way they gain a ton of traction because of the disproportionate downwards force, and then you can use that traction to turn the car at a faster speed than it could normally turn at. In this crazy loop situation I suppose you'd have to make the corrective maneuver at the spot where the front wheels are pressed on the track hard enough.

These guys are likely all sick or dead by now for the pay 2 Rupees per week and all the lead they can breath.

Seriously, do they not have chairs? Can they not use their clearly exceedingly good engineering skills to make a desk? Is it really worth it to spend hours rebuilding batteries? I mean, I understand recycling the lead but why not just break down the batter and recycle everything en-masse?

Chairs guys. Chairs and desks. Also, you're working with molten lead. Maybe heavy boots and a respirator? That's not expensive. You should probably have chaps and gloves too.

Nope, not this place. Breathing molten lead and Sulphur is listed as a benefit. Just like the vacation days from full thickness burns and the free burial service of being chucked in the river when to end up kacking on the job.

I just discovered Pakistani Truck Channel. It's a mix of amazing ingenuity and OSHA nightmares.

Today we watch them rebuild a truck battery. Molten lead, no eye pro, sandals... its got it all.

Someone tried to break down the value based on the figures this guy gives though.

Nenonen posted:

At the end of the video (15:35) it says

"One day I make three batteries.
A battery repairing cost is $30.
Three hours a battery repairing time.
A battery works easily two years."

So he earns $10 per hour while Pakistani median wage is by internet $3.5, not counting cost of other materials, tools, electricity, taxes etc. but it would seem like a good profit. And if it works then $30 is maybe not a steal but buying a brand new battery is a big investment for a poor rural trucker. Better use the saved money on garish decorations on your truck.

It is the attitude of the crane: dropping the boulder and saying "now the proper place for it is right where it landed."
