Anyway I played RW Obosh Prowess at my LGS next week and it was super fun but I'm thinking about bringing Izzet Merfolk this week. I'm brewing a deck based on a Japanese players' list including Ragavan and Lightning Bolt but I'm also adding in Expressive Iteration because why not, it's an extremely good card

It can just go in the pile of "creatures with potentially gamewinning abilities that require you to untap with them". Though I guess a 3-drop is a little more likely to survive to untap than a 5 or 6 drop

E: The other two cards that make Samurai = Bushido are Kenzo, the Hard Hearted and Keitaro, the Smiling Cat implicitly and explicitly respectively. Unrelated but when it comes to "worst possible EDH general" my answer is always Keitaro because he's a low stated mana fixer for a samurai deck but himself has only a white color identity. If printed today he'd probably have another ability that modified his or the color identity of other samurai cards. SCG is starting up events the weekend of Feb 11th and it's Saturday Modern, Sunday Legacy which is loving excellent. The first one is philly (or more likely valley forge casino) which is like 50 mins from me. Good poo poo.

What were they thinking starting it on prerelease day for one of the most hyped sets in years? E: I guess it was scheduled in advance before KND release date was known, but as a side benefit they'll have a smaller turnout for the first one so it'll be easier to ramp up later.
