Anyone received a witness citation before? I just received a text saying I'll be getting a letter. Have a good idea what it's about and don't particularly have any interest in being a witness, but far as I am aware you have to go, don't you?

It's weirder (but not as clear cut) as that. The user *did* have some alarmingly detailed posts about age of consent back in the days before the big  purge but really no more so than any reddit poster, but they didn't post about it "almost exclusively". They *did* post an absolute shitload of news though, which is how they became mod of several news subreddits. While there are some very suggestive absences in their posting history - specifically a couple of days after Maxwell's mother's death - they actually stopped posting 2 days before her arrest (and apparently posted to several private subreddits in the days following her arrest but I don't know enough about how Reddit works to verify that), and also just kept on posting on days when she is known to have been travelling or at large public events. Personally I think it possibly was her but more likely was someone who worked for her - I assume there's a lot of downtime when you're the PA for a society figure who has a side-hustle trafficking underage girls for a global paedophile ring.

You have to attend but you can make it clear you are unwilling to answer questions. They may still compel you to trial but if they think you're going to be a lot of hassle they may not bother. Please note if you do get summoned to court failure to answer questions there will result in contempt.
