I love how the Sesto FE was 600 points last week, and everybody bought one, and this week they made it 300.

The Mclaren F1 GT is there, which is a $15m car in the regular store, so buy it

I don't know how far off you are on the monthly, but it's a bad week to skip. there are 4 new exclusive cars. The gallardo spyder, peel trident, ferrari 575m and then the SVJ for the monthly. You should be able to get to 45 points for the season without doing the trial. You can even probably do the race series with autosteer and autobrake on. just mash the throttle nad play on your phone or whatever. I did that speed zone in the raptor. The key is to come in front the south through the field at top speed to start out with a higher average.

The drivatars are also hilariously bad at driving it, worth doing this just to see it.

Also I've tried using that 78 Escort Hoonigan tune, but it shows as being S2 901 when I install it, then shows as S1 900 in menus, then doesn't let me pick it for the trial.

They really went all out to keep us from that Peel, didn't they. Sheesh. Real swell of them to gate the photo task behind the same car you win, so you can't use it to win the car.

I'm finding the Punto de Vista speed zone real difficult. Spent several hours with the Bronco, Colorado and Jimmy and I can't get close. What's the secret? I can hit the entrance at about 100mph starting from the top of the hill but that big curve slows me down to the 50s.

Once you find one chest, you can cheese it by rewinding, which respawns the chest.

if you do the drag race at tiutihuacan or whatever the place is and check eventlab there should be a few peel themed race where you race a freebie tiny car and then one of your opponents will be a peel. Start the race, go to photo mode, take a photo of the peel. No need to own the peel.

I just started playing on gamepass, I got the BAC mono and liked it stock so I tried tuning it. I put the AWD conversion on it because it lowed the points and added acceleration and launch, but now it's understeering like a loving pig. Do you ever have to make large tuning changes to suspension to make a significant change to handling or should small tweaks fix it? I've tried small tweaks based on the details the game mentions and it's still pretty bad. All the AWD cars seem to understeer bad unless you add at least a bit of rear spring or sway bar stiffness.

Mix of both small and large - diff changes can go a long way for AWD and the default settings it slaps on can be wack. Try 100% front diff (I know it's backwards from IRL and the description) for less oversteer or 0-15% front diff, rear diff around 50%, and center diff play around moving towards rear try 50-70%. Decel try either 0 or 100% front and 5% rear. Also try dropping the front ARB to like 0-10% of the slider and rear ARB to 75-100%.

Couple video guides, first a more IRL focused one that will help make very drivable balanced cars: https://youtu.be/wkHNIBBw6Tw

And a more quick and dirty that has more info around some settings that don't work in game like IRL/the descriptions: https://youtu.be/kVfBJu580Sw

I think the Mono was one of my favorite cars as well when I started out in FH4. Every car responds to drivetrain changes a little differently. If you AWD swap the Mono you also want to make sure to get an upgraded differential to allow tuning because it is super important. I am going to assume you are tuning for pavement rather than dirt, so try the following as a starting point:

Tires 28.5 psi F/R
Camber -1.6 F, -1.2
Toe 0.0 F, -0.2 R
Caster 5.5
Anti-Roll 15.0 F, 15.0 R
Springs 260.2 F, 260.2 R
Ride Height 3.6 F, 4.0 R
Rebound 5.6 F, 5.8 R
Bump 2.6 F, 2.4 R
Aero 140 F, 200 R
Brake Balance 48%
Brake Force 105%
Front Diff 15% A, 5% D
Rear Diff 60% A, 25% D
Center Diff 72%

A few days ago someone posted a list of times when you could do a Horizon Tour in the VW Type 2 bus in order to check off that playlist item. There's another one back in the dailies to do a tour in a GT car, so this list from reddit might come in handy. It's a table of the starting times of all Horizon Tour events each hour showing what restrictions and courses are in each one.

These may of course change in the future.

Thanks, will do.

I got the barn find Dart today and have been tuning it for the drag race at the airstrip. I got it down to under 16 seconds for the 1km while staying in class A, but I think I could save a bit of time if I could make the car not pull to the side as much off the line. I set the differential to 100% because it seems like that would effectively lock the diff and avoid a one-wheel-peel and it helps but it's still kind of touchy having to keep the perfect amount of steering to the left to avoid drifting right.

Hey now. When I won (third try) I was pretty drunk but carried my team to victory with a couple of first place finishes. I think that might be due to using the Nova. I'm suspicious that it punches above its weight because I'm not that good. Or the tune was exceptionally good or something.

The chests are all in the next room (ignore the first room).
There's one behind the target, one left, and one right.

One of them was a hill climb that actually took a bit of skill to accomplish. I'd give it a try if you're bored. :)

I really like the racing with manual transmission. I know I could turn off ABS and traction control in order to get good, but I don't know if I care that much. What does "simulation" steering do? The one that looks really painful is simulation tires, which can blow your tires I guess? It seems like realistically they would be popping on the first lap of most races in the game.

This is absolutely true and I almost didn't believe it, but I tried it out and it does make a difference. There is some change in how to control some powerful RWD cars though, but usually just for way too powerful S2 hypercars and the like - especially while launching from a standstill or accelerating after a slow turn, but for people racing A800 super saloons TCS doesn't really make any sense. Even on those high-powered squirrely cars, you just have to be a lot more careful in feathering the throttle (I suck at it so I just use 4WD cars when going S1/S2 :v: )

this reminds me: why can't we see the rev counter / hud until AFTER the race has started and you're already bouncing against the redline and losing grip/control when using manual transmission? Or conversely being too gentle and starting out sluggishly while the rest of the pack flies off the line? That's an incredibly bad oversight for a game where "launch" is so important at higher difficulty levels, and the fact that you always start near the back in singleplayer races doesn't help...

The general not having a start sequence just "go" is probably my biggest peeve. I'd switch to manual if launch control worked in actual races

Split times would be nice too, dunno why they left that out except maybe to cover for how the drivatars occasionally gently caress off and skip a couple of checkpoints

A trail event is a point-to-point race. The opposite is a circuit race.
