Since I have to share it somewhere, from a recruiter email I got today:quote:Planet Mojo is a blockchain gaming metaverse being built by veterans from LucasArts, EA, Activision and more. Set inside a rich, mysterious alien world, players will compete with their NFT owned customised teams in a suite of PvP Play-To-Earn games.

Yeah, LucasArts like the only non-horrible thing in there. The rest was just evil and buzzwords. Not that I have problems with people who used to work at EA or Activision, but I wouldn’t use those companies as a positive. And the ones who would choose to work on an NFT game might just not be the best of the bunch.

It's actually fairly hard to design recommendation algorithms that never look nefarious, and Valve's not exactly hiring from the deep end of the talent pool.

you can only see that if you have click ed the opt in button on your account to see those games. i havnt, so even trying to directly search the game comes up blank except for a note saying the game has been excluded, and then trying to look at it from there gives another warning that the game is adult onlyt. so i would simply go uncheck the hentai game check box that is opt in so i dont see them anymore.

I basically gave up on steam's recommendations the instant I started following this thread (and honestly didn't really care about them beforehand), but I was a little surprised when I clicked on the winter sale's "point & click adventure" tab and naked waifus just showed up in the mix. I figured those games would at least be gated off a bit more in steam's major sales.

Zil posted:I'm assuming the nude patch is free though on a sketchy file download site? No, you just get it from the developer themselves. Like the way it works is developer Anime Titty Productions creates a porn game. Then they censor it enough to be listable on Steam, and create a patch to uncensor it, which does not get applied to the Steam version. After you buy it on steam, you can go to AnimeTittyProductions.com to get the patch directly from them. It's an absurd process but you won't virus your computer from it.

Many things are theoretically against many rules. Generating profit eases such troubles.

The reason you keep getting recommended the anime titty games is because lots of people buy them. The algorithm is attempting to maximize profits.

Meme Poker Party posted:No, you just get it from the developer themselves. That was only the case for like a year or so, when steam still technically banned porn but just didn't care enough to moderate it. As you've probably seen in this thread, there's loads of full-on porn games now that don't require an outside patch. ultrafilter posted:Isn't that theoretically against Steam's rules? Nah. Steam followed a don't-ask-don't-tell kinda thing for a while though. You couldn't link the nude patch on the actual store page, but you could sticky a link to your nude-patch website in the discussion forums just fine. Then for a few months they banned the forum thing too... but soon afterwards they just said "gently caress it porn games are allowed on steam now" and now the anime titties can come pre-installed. I don't really know the target audience though, like there's no privacy features or anything on steam so even if you did want to buy porno all your friends would see that you've spent 100 hours playing it in the past week and a neat list of all your achievements?
