The Switch is a rare instance where Nintendo is releasing cool games but there is actual good third party support too. Truly not since the GBA and DS have we seen such a library. Wintendo is what I hear people saying

Stux posted:porabably because the pleasure center of their brain has been worn down by repeated exposure to sony games It's cool and good to play bad rear end video games regardless of platform, that's why I have a switch and a PS5. In a perfect world the switch would also get modern next gen (or even PS4 quality) stuff but the little guy just can't :/ I would hate to miss out on a lot of cool current gen experiences just because I'm stuck on switch. I find myself using both pretty equally though, so a testament to how the switch really is an incredible handheld As per the Nintendo end of year rundown it actually turns out I also use it docked half the time which threw me by surprise. I thought I was mostly handheld lol KingSlime fucked around with this message at 00:50 on Jan 6, 2022 |

I haven't failed a delivery yet, but everything I've read online sounds like you can expect to screw up late game and the only penalty is less stars to spend on upgrades. I think you're expected to play it multiple times if you enjoy it, so you might have an imperfect run to get your bearings and then be able to really buckle down on a second attempt.

Peasants, rolling around in filth, covered in fleas and ticks, squeezing a big wet turd out of their pockmarked asses and eating the turd as quickly as possible so they don't have to fight off the flies with their frail, malnourished arms: "Nintendo bad" Me, stately and regal, gilded, festooned, and draped in silken fineries, supping on delicacies from exotic lands and quaffing the most tantalizing of wines from my vast collection of vintages renowned for their exquisite taste and finish, as maidens fawn over my every decree: "Nintendo good"

Switch has had an incredible year, let alone lifetime. just wanted to say Metroid Dread is a great example of someone making a great game. I feel like other companies could learn from this quote:Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - February 12 Not even counting the DLC for AOC, New Leaf, 3rd party etc Barreft fucked around with this message at 01:07 on Jan 6, 2022 |

I've got like 125ish games downloaded on my Switch, so the library seems pretty good to me. I own Disco Elysium but am considering buying the Switch version so I'd give it another shot. Being able to play in bed or on the couch watching TV or Youtube is huge, and the Switch factor definitely helped me give some games a second shot, like Shovel Knight. Xbox Game Pass is also handy as a demo service for Switch games. Without it I wouldn't have bought Monster Train or Nowhere Prophet!

splatoon also has a fairly good chunk of single player content plus an expansion.

I was frustrated for a bit because of that. I love it but the load times can be ehhh. Great and worth playing in bed, looks very pretty too.

animal crossing is primarily a solo experience, mario maker you just need an internet connection to download levels, warioware is fun co-op but the actual party mode is pretty lacking compared to the gamecube one

I love warioware much as the next guy but come on man it ain't botw or mario Odyssey caliber. It's a collection of mini mini games. It's a cute mobile type game just like animal crossing or Mario Maker (this one seems to have a ton of depth if you're into building levels I'll give it that) It's fine if you don't play other consoles, but you guys are really stretching the definition here to fit your narrative lol. Let's just agree to disagree on what a meaty single player game is

The 2nd one is a truly great game, plus it does the thing where it puts an optional super platforming challenge in the post game. Definitely on my "replay someday when I've forgotten most of it" list.

But yeah the digging and the upgrade treadmill are v satisfyinghatty posted:I’ll take another Wario Ware or Mario Maker over God of War 2 or Horizon 2 tbh The cool thing is you don't have to kill/marry one or the other because they're made by entirely different companies I would take a wario Odyssey ASAP but only if it's not like wario world, that game was boring

I'm so tempted to buy Xenoblade Chronicles because I love giant maps and exploration. But I have a feeling I'm going to hate the gameplay. I never could get into MMO style RPGs and positively hated Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but that was mostly due to the cast and tone moreso than the combat. I should finally just pick up dread instead
