I just keep thinking about how it's super cool that we've developed so much cool machinery that we can take an machine that essentially moves two levers back and forth while pushing an object up at regular intervals and used that to make noodles. Humanity is cool sometimes.

anyone still wondering about the shark: great whites and some other species enter a vegetative state when flipped upside down. if you've ever seen scientists doing tagging or such on sharks they have alongside their boats they usually flip the shark upside down so it doesn't thrash around. also killer whales have learned that if you flip great whites (and some sting rays) upside down they are easy to tear apart for food or for fun. yeah.

I used to have a ~4 foot long black throated monitor and he was almost as affectionate as a dog. He also would occasionally get into a mood and start whipping you with his very powerful tail with no apparent provocation. In short, monitors are a land of contrasts
