i'm through the first cour of sakura quest and starting on the second. first cour was very good, i'm curious to see how the second will go when it's sort of spent most of its premise energy already... i've got a basic list of what I want to watch the first half of this year: Akudama Drive (already seen 3 eps), Orbital Children, Link Click (seen 1 ep), Back Arrow, Blue Sub No 6, Kaiba, Odd Taxi, Shadows House, Ranking of Kings, Vivy Flourite Eyes Song, Heaven's Design Team, and SSSS.Gridman (seen 1 ep). so 12 series that are a bit all over in terms of genre. if i watch 3 eps a day, i could technically get through all those shows in 2 months... idk if i actually will, but maybe 3 months is reasonable??? i'm not sure i'll like all those shows either, but they generally are fondly talked about so i will at least give them a try (and orbital children is dennou coil person so i have to support that just because)

I personally think Rave Master is better than Fairy Tale on most aspects (characters that aren't Gajeel and Ezra, overall plot cohesion, less weird sex stuff, villains that aren't quite so toothless or boringly overpowered, more tense fights, etc.), so even if you didn't like Fairy Tale, you might like Rave Master. It's not perfect by any means but I enjoyed it greatly when I read it a decade and a half ago and some parts still hold up even on a reread now.

Yakuza Reincarnation's a neat twist. It's about an old man who goes out on his own terms with a few second thoughts and no real regrets past the changing era. And he keeps right on living like a boss on the other side too.

There was a huge ripped ogre who runs a vegan cafe, wood elves are buff as hell lumberjacks and construction workers who love humans because they consider them eternal children(compared to elves), and dryads are yakuza who plant yggdrasil saplings to muscle in on other people's turf, which iirc spawn treemen in sleazy yakuza goon outfits and sunglasses to defend it from being cut down. I think only a few chapters of it got translated which is a shame because it was a really neat concept for a series.
