It was Primitive Man, Blood Incantation, Sissy Spacek, Withered, and Jarhead Fertilizer I went to the Boston date of this, it was rad, Sissy Spacek was amazing and I love that Jarhead Fertilizer LP, fans of Mortician should def check it out if they haven't. I also thought I might've caught covid at that show but thankfully tested negative. Probably my last show for the forseeable future though.

Worm Shepherd was surprisingly good, kinda like Monolith Deathcult without the poo poo sense of humor and occasionally they dipped down to some really deep brutal stuff.

Now I'm thinking about Triumvirate and how good it is. My favorite thing about Monolith Deathcult is a comment under a single off their newest album. Someone said "Really love the new sound you guys are going in," and the band responded "We aren't, this is the same as the last two albums?"

If the two earlier ones were more of the same, sounds like a solid pickup to me. And yeah Trivmvirate owns hard. "I Spew Thee Out Of My Mouth" has been on a ton of personal playlists since the release of that album.

I'm considering a move this year toward checking out whatever the coolest named band is in Nazzadan's weekly dumps, so I'm giving this Worm Shepherd album a fair shake even though deathcore isn't my bag. Interesting to fuse that sound with bombastic symphonic trappings.

Interesting to fuse that sound with bombastic symphonic trappings. I'm finishing it up right now and it is very good. Blackened deathcore is a really cool direction for the genre to move (stuff like Lorna Shore, Bog Wraith, Make Them Suffer, etc.) and this album does it well. It's got some well placed slams, heavy breakdowns, and real gross vocals that remind me of Will of now Lorna Shore fame. Worm Sheperd starts promising, but I couldn't get into their deathcore elements at all. I really dislike that subgenre in general, but I think it's really good that there exist some bands trying new things.

In the middle of Wolfbastard me and my buddy go "this is really good but this just seems more like black thrash than blackened d-beat" and like 10 seconds later the chorus of the song is just repeatedly saying 'Black thrashing metal' and we went "oh well, there ya go."

Yeah I got super excited for blackened D-beat then was very confused at no d-beats and literally no drum beat other than double bass
