Liquid gasoline isn’t that bad it’s the vapors. The most dangerous trucks are the ones that just dumped a load since it’s full of vapor and the trailer no longer has the weight that helps keep it stable with the baffles. When I worked in stations one day I asked the driver dumping in the tank how he could stand the fumes all day. He looked me straight in the eye and said ‘because it gets you high son’. I’ll never forget that cold realization of the combo of a guy high on fumes and a rolling fuel-air bomb driving through the neighborhood.

Basically what they found (from memory, it was like 15 years ago) is that you can dunk a cigarette or flame or whatever into liquid gas an it'll just put out the fire. Holding something above for a while will ignite the fumes though, it just needs to be the exact right fuel/air mix

The gently caress happened to that rail? I was thinking spiral staircase intersecting a square pillar but it only does it at the top, which suggest that either someone bent the railing outward and they just plastered over it, or someone purpose built a railing that overhangs the staircase...
