In the second Jack Reacher there’s a teenage girl who they don’t really make any effort to make it seem like Cruise is any taller than her. I don’t remember what movie it was that they made Emilio Estavez’s costar walk in a trench because she was slightly taller than him.

Police Story is everything. Up to the abrupt cut to Jackie Chan singing over the credits/"making of" footage the split second the villian is taken out. I feel ashamed for not watching this sooner.

Every thread should be the police story thread. Fun fact about it's title. It's called that because every time Jackie started shooting a new movie, there'd be ten imitators out before he finished his lengthier, more demanding shoot. You can see something similar now with all the Ip Man films chasing Donnie Yen money. But if it's just called Police Story? Then what do we copy? There hadn't been many kung fu cop movies at that point. It's the most Jackie Chan movie. I don't know if it's his best work, since he just has such a gigantic catalogue of insanely good work, but it's the one that, to me, best exemplifies what made him unique. Also, the evil lawyer actually does a really good job and they put quite a bit of work into the court scenes from a lawyering perspective.

Police Story rules at least through First Strike, I don't really care for the two reboots. Police Story 3: Supercop is the best because Michelle Yeoh. Who wants another sequel to A Christmas Story?
