The E7 exam has improved 1000% since they've split it up by rate post-Covid, pre-Covid it was a 3 hour poo poo show just to get seated.

I'll always remember my last boat making a 20 year 1sr take the exam, who was retiring in 3 months, he tried deliberately to answer every question wrong, and scored in like the 20th percentile, lol.

Every time I saw that it came back to a lovely rear end lcpo who lived to make people miserable.

I dont know why I repeated myself, could've just left it as "they had a chief."

I have a retired reserve master chief at work who cannot stand that he has to do what I say and I was just a lowly first when I got out.

It was both really. I preferred this one.

Anyone who had a paperclip on their dungaree shirt or poopiesuit would get it ripped off by any chief who saw it.

lol went to my 4 day drill and chief said if you have any symptoms go get tested at madigan. So sure I got a hacking cough from my throat. Well they gave me a 24 siq chit and then a positive result with 5 days of isolation so I’m “drilling” from my camper all weekend. Have to reschedule my reenlist now.

loving can’t believe I travel all over the med in a covid pandemic with lovely masks and now working everyday with kn95 masks I catch omnicron.

They say that the new substrain of Omicron is 1.5 times as infectious, and Omicron was like 5 times as infectious as Delta, which was some order of magnitude more infectious than the one before it, so I imagine that the lovely masks during the med might have had better results. Like, I look back at the infection numbers and the first "wave" is almost imperceptibly small, especially compared to now. Like now would be the time to do an aggressive lock down and enact all the precautions we can, but no one has the willpower to do such. I think by the end of the year everyone will have either had it, regardless if they know it or not, or their immunity successfully fends off infection.

Lol no I don’t get a hotel I live 49 miles from my drill site. I decided to just bring my camper and spend $30 a night to not have to drive back and forth. Full hookups so it’s not bad plus it’s on JBLM so I got like 50% less meth heads to deal with.

It's been like wildfire here in Virginia especially at my job. Luckily only one person in my crew actually got symptoms and he was fine after a couple days. So it seems this may be the most contagious but the least threatening.

For people fully vaccinated. Doc was kinda specific on that point.

I mean the one guy that got sick was vaccinated meanwhile everyone else, the unvaccinated included, were completely asymptotic.

Yup. Vaccinated with booster out here are basically not sick at all. I had like 5 days of mild sniffles or so.

Vaccinated without booster has slightly more symptoms but generally not bad and no fever to speak of.

No vaccine regardless of prior infection gets loving rekt just as bad or worse than prior variants.

My old unit is in the field right now and had live ammo go missing for over a day and no pause-ex was called or weapons pulled or anything, just M4 ammo missing and everyone wandering around with M4s. Word is the ACB here on the west coast also had live ammo go missing, a full auto ND in a tent and patrol end up on a hot sniper range during their field training exercise.

What a community. Lengkeek was my CO when we had the CMC who later was removed from his posting at the Regiment level due to being rapey. He faced the worst consequence of all, being moved to another command and then having it suggested he retire a little early after being drunk on duty (allegedly)

The Seabee museum at Port Hueneme is surprisingly well done and promotes two main messages:

1) The Seabees have a long, proud, noble heritage, which occasionally involves running over Japanese troops with an armored War Bulldozer.
2) Seabees loot the everloving poo poo out of anywhere they go.

Seriously, about 1/3 of the items in the museum are stuff that Seabees brought home with them after deployments. Like a 6 foot long U-Boat model that some guy lifted from a Nazi shipyard, or Uday Hussein's gold-plated sniper rifle.
