The Timberwolves are somehow over .500 after their win over the Blazers, who are currently 20-27. Who would have thought that the Wolves would have a better record at this point?

wolves are a bit of a wild card but it was pretty easy to see Portland would be bad this year

I thought they'd be solidly where the Wolves are now at the low end of the playoff picture, and maybe they will be by the end of the season, but they've looked way worse than I thought, though granted I haven't caught a lot of their games.

Yeah without him the blazers are just anemic and it’s sad but that’s Portland just a consistently disappointing team to follow always let you down imo the high water mark was going to the WC finals in 2019 then blowing two huge halftime leads in a row at golden state on the way to getting swept

I’ve read a couple places that they’re not even sure the surgery will help with his particular condition so that’s fun too

euphronius
Feb 18, 2009

that WC fraud was a bit fraudulent as they didn’t play anyone and then got smoked by a bad warriors team

HashtagGirlboss
Jan 4, 2005

Maybe. I’m not gonna argue that point. But the point remains I think it’s the high water mark of this blazers era and that makes me sad

Dame is right about at that point where some guys just can't come back from an injury no matter how much treatment they get. Guys like Kevin Durant are the exception, not the rule.

Yeah it’s true. Not sure what he’ll look like when he comes back. He’s been a hell of a player and always fun to have around so the future will be what it’ll be but would have liked another year or two watching him at his peak

It's a lot better but there's some things that just can't be fixed, or can't be fixed without sitting out for 2-3 years and at that point, why bother at 30+
