Because we don't sign good players anymore and our strategy is either signing scraps from bigger clubs ( like these signings, see also Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier from PSG) or trying to find the bargain version of a player we actually need ( not making a proper move for Luis Diaz, signing Gedson fernandes instead of Bruno Fernandes) Kulusevski was good at Parma who are my team in Italy so I'm quite pleased about him signing.

Reprisal posted:long covid is a myth, Henderson wasn’t good enough and it was obvious From everything I've seen, Henderson is genuinely good enough to be United number one, and if you'd asked me at the start of the season I'd have picked him over De Gea as a long-term investment Of course, De Gea came back in and immediately went into one of his phases where he summons the ghosts of ten Oliver Kahns and keeps clean sheets out of pure spite and death metal rage, so loaning Henderson out for now is pretty much the only option since he's too good to be on the bench I would much prefer if we loaned him to Watford or Burnley or Norwich, though. Something about those clubs just feels like he'd do better there, even if we paid all his wages and sent him a new pair of gloves every week

He was signed by City for £175k when he was 13, and six months later they were fined twice that and banned from signing young players for tapping up schoolboys. The guy who was in charge of their academy at the time is now our Sporting Director. We've been constantly linked with other kids he signed there as well. Not sure how he fits in, but unlikely to be worse than Rhys Williams. We sent one of our own young centre halves down to League Two to get games because Russell Martin plays two fullbacks in his back three and doesn't rotate much.
