Remember when Adam Sandler and Kevin James tried making a movie championing gay rights that was super woke for the time and they expected it to be one of the classic homosexual movies like To Wong Foo and The Birdcage to be remembered for decades?

Then Rob Schneider showed up in yellowface.

I never watched this movie but based on the advertising it seemed like "lol imagine if you had to pretend you were gay, wouldn't that be gross and hilarious? gay marriage lol"

Oh my sweet lord, my girlfriend is a flight attendant and has to do a red eye flight weekly in a few hours, so she crashed at like noon. I accidentally woke her up with a Rich Evans cry of AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE from leaving youtube on.. This seems like the last nail in my coffin of convincing her to love the boys, but also, lmfao at A.P.E, the budget Stallone movie, and the sex pervert movie.

i don't know about gay panic but gay marriage definitely was. it was only legal in what, 3 states then? maybe a "civil union" in a 4th?

edit: did a goog, gay marriage was only legal in the state of massachusetts starting in 2004 until california and connecticut showed up in 2008. you had "civil unions" and "domestic partnerships" in a smattering of other states.

Just saw a moon fall commercial and it was hard to tell since they flashed the pull quotes for about 10 frames each, but it looked like they were quoting random twitter users. Maybe they've been doing this for a while and I'm just vigilant after learing total recall 2012 was better than the original from myspace.

I watched Wallace & Gromit: A matter of loaf and death (2008)

What wonderful stuff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL3XFwlmtx0

Great, lighthearted humor along with incredible stop motion animation, Wallace & Gromit are great. These animations are few and far between. Happily, there's a new one announced for 2024.

I liked this because it feels like it's made with tons of love. Stop-motion requires extreme patience, and yet this has lots of tiny details, fun british humour, visual gags, simple but tight story, it's just excellent all around. Maybe it's not high art, but certainly great art. And entertaining too.

I award this a solid 5 out of 5 Comfys, and also Guillermo Del Toro's home number, so they can call him and give him some pointers for Pinocchio

Edit: There's a Behind the Scenes on youtube, called "How They Donut - A Matter of Loaf and Death". I won't link it here because it's got tons of spoilers, but if you've already watched it, it's full of cool info about W&G

Have you watched the recent Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon movie? Shaun is a spinoff character from W&G (from “A Close Shave”). It’s a real great film too with just tons of love and effort obviously put into the craft, it’s fantastic. Even less dialogue than W&G, and yet tells the story effortlessly.

Sirro Argonne first appeared in the 2016 Anthology film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which he was portrayed by Richard Franklin. Though the film's credits refer to him as "Engineer",[2] Argonne's name was revealed in Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo released on the same day as the film.[3]
