Got the last boss down once I realized a few card hits softens up the swords enough to destroy them with the wand. They give a stupid amount of points so I gained and lost like six lives by the time I wore him down. His huge sword swipe still feels like bullshit half the time. Overall I thought it was a cute and fun game but feels loose to the point of sloppy. And stage 8 is flat out bad.

Pocky & Rocky 2 is a lot of fun despite level 8 trying to drag it down. Good pick on a game I'd otherwise never play.

beady annoys me because i did him perfectly the first time i encountered him and then the next two times he took like 3 lives off of me its that beginners luck thing that happens in arcade games sometimes where you just bullshit your way thru something on pure instinct the first time but as soon as you try to remember what you did the next time you die

The bosses really reward learning their attack order, since a lot of attacks are nearly impossible to avoid on reaction if you weren't already on the correct part of the screen. Cool game I would have played through over and over if I had it as a kid, but stage 8 is too much rear end to even consider going for a 1cc.

yeah the bosses are really about learning a very tight rhythm which is pretty satisfying. this game is cool never gonna 1cc it but I'm pretty confident I'll beat it before tomorrow

 if this level locked your aim upward like the previous shmup stage it'd be fine and probably also still pretty fun even with the lame movement restrictions as things stand though, i do not like this level

yeah that's the main problem with it. there's no reason outside of that midboss to fire anywhere but up so it's just an incredibly irritating nerf. any horizontal movement becomes a liability
