Another step in Bennett's transformation into centrist Gorrell. I'm not glad of this.

That cartoon sucks and made me say "oh my god shut up" before I even noticed who made it, but Clay Bennett is not a centrist, he's decidedly left of center. You didn't mention him here, but Scott Stantis is also not a centrist, he's a right-wing Republican who keeps complaining that the GOP is the wrong flavor of right-wing.

I can't think of a lot of centrist political cartoonists, except arguably David Horsey and Jeff Stahler.

I like how he needed the counselor facing the audience but couldn't come up with a better way to let us know who she is than writing it on the door, so he ended up drawing an office where the desk faces away from the door.

Hey kids, what time is it? It's 1947 (and 1948), and it's Parrish and Orr time!

1

Princess Elizabeth got married to Prince Philip. I mostly like this one for Mary Queen of Scots in the upper right corner.
(edit -- I didn't notice it at first, but Henry VIII is holding up six fingers, presumably for his wives?)

2

Meanwhile, the Trib cartoonists are still bitching endlessly about the Marshall Plan and Europe.

3

Presidential election coming up...

4

5

6

7

8

I'm sure nothing will ever come of that.

9

Oh, and Orr is capable of being racist even when doing a cartoon about the weather.

10

The Trib cartoonists actually liked Gandhi, which is a bit surprising but then you have to recall how much they hated Britain.

It will be brought up a few times in the first half of the year, brought up once or twice in the summer, and then forgotten about until the rushed, anticlimactic conclusion.

I thought handmaidens were sex slaves (even moreso than the source material*) in Sinfest, so putting a baby in that is uh...hosed up, so hoping Ishida doesn't go that route. Maybe 2022 is a boy, and the Woke Church is raising him as a girl because that's totally how being transgender works.

*as an aside, isn't it weird how Ishida's metaphors for his bizarro feminism tend to end up originating from people with the opposite views? The extremely tired Matrix crap; the Handmaiden references given Atwood's opinions on trans women, et al. And yet he keeps on using them.

There it is the dumbest anti-mask argument I've ever seen. "Masks are bad because they make people think masks are all you need to be safe/anything is safe if you're wearing a mask even shooting people".

It's also interesting that he's sticking with the religion metaphor to show why trans rights and science are bad, even though religion has become good now because it's right-wing. Science is an unthinking irrational blind faith in fake nonsense, just like religion which is our noble heritage and bastion against the woke mob

The decision of a Tennessee school board to remove a graphic novel about the Holocaust from the eighth grade curriculum has many people crying censorship. But what really is censorship? Why do we not consider economic censorship, the decision not to print something in the first place, less severe than something like this Tennessee decision? Better, after all, to have been printed and sold than to have never been printed and sold.
