Can't say I blame anyone for getting out of football if they can. That said if he's still around I still think we should trade him for whatever and go with the two receiving TE and one main WR(bateman) type plan.

I like him but he's probably a better Madden player than an actual football player which is very funny to me

How about some premature and overly optimistic win-loss predictions? Looked at the Bengals’ opponents next season and did some counting. Assumptions: Pittsburg doesn’t pull a big impact qb like Rodgers, Baltimore is better because less than half the roster is injured, Cleveland is not markedly improved regardless of what happens with Baker, Cincy improves their pass protection at least marginally.

I count 14 games that Cincy would win today. Of course, they would drop one or two of them, but also might pull out a surprise win with one of the other three. Assuming Baltimore improves enough to split with Cincinnati and Cleveland pulls one out too, I’ll predict 12-5 by season’s end. If the offensive line improves more than just slightly, I’d go up to 13-4.

Or, lol bengals 9-8. That’s always a possibility. Truly a surreal experience thinking that above .500 is the minimum conceivable outcome for this team.

The game I'm excited about is at saints. There's going to be more LSU jerseys in that stadium than Bengals and saints gear combined.

Assuming Bengy is a 9 win floor team is wrong since they are paper thin at lots of positions and had ridiculous injury luck this year. They aren't a Super Bowl or Bust roster until they have like more than a single pass rusher or more than one NFL caliber tackle and guard. They probably aren't going to find competent starting CBs off the street again.

Ravens schedule looks nice as long as Rodgers doesn't flee to Denver. Getting Buffalo at home is fortunate.

predicting W/L is a fool's errand but I'll say 12-5

Optimistic estimate for the Browns assuming they improve at WR and a healthy Baker is at least a step up from this year but maybe 2020 level again, 10 to 12 wins. I wish we weren't in a division where basically everyone is "good" to some extent or another.

Talking about strength of schedule in September is dumb let alone in February.

Hard to say how deep any particular team is when free agency hasn't started at all, but the Bengals roster is only really shallow in the offensive line. I would say they definitely need another dedicated pass rusher, but Ossai didn't play a snap for them, and had one of the most promising preseason debuts I've ever seen for a defensive player. Hendrickson Hubbard Ossai and one free agent or draft acquisition makes them look extremely promising. They need to add a boundary corner, a past rush specialist, and two offensive lineman in the offseason, which is extremely doable If they actually commit to doing it.

I'm not going to go that far, but it was legitimately enraging when they didn't pursue him and match the offer the Ravens gave him last year. Zeitler wasn't a world-beater for the Ravens but he definitely would have been better and more reliable than the players we put out there.

Zeitler kind of was a world beater last year. He had only two games that were less than very good. Definitely the best player on that line, which includes a guy likely to be the highest paid center in the league next season.

Ravens horrific line play was concentrated at the tackles. Thankfully tackle is a famously cheap and easy position to fill.

^^ Less MVPs though

Ben Cleveland got hurt early so still hopeful he'll be a good LG next season.

The Ravens' tackle situation is bad even if Ronnie gets back 100% next season. Sign Bozeman and draft an OT early. Or trade a first round pick for a good one if you can swing it. Last year should teach them not to gently caress around when it comes to offensive line.

Let Bozeman go and slot Mekari there. Draft 2 OTs at least, hopefully one of the top 3 guys falls to Baltimore at 14. Add to them a high ceiling developmental pick. No matter what Baltimore does with the o-line it's hard to imagine them improving to the point of it being a strength without Stanley coming back to play at a starting caliber level.

I've said it a million times but the timing of Stanley's injury, 5 days after signing his mega deal, really killed the Ravens' Lamar rookie contract window. Terrible luck.
