I'm glad the Bengals lost. I'm glad because I'm not sure I would be able to hold myself to this decision if they had won. I had an amazing seat for the game, and was perfectly placed to see the hit made on Giovanni Bernard. This is a kid who has been every bit the upstanding citizen, and builds schools in Haiti with his wealth. What I realized when I was asked to watch a player lower his eyes to the grass and drive the crown of his helmet through Gio's head over and over is that the NFL doesn't care at all about these people. I guess I always knew that but it really drove the point home. The NFL reviewed the play to see whether their idiotic notion of what is and isn't a catch was held to. They reviewed the play to see whether Gio's wrist touched the ground. They reviewed the play to see if he was able to hold on to a bit of leather as he lost consciousness. They forced us to watch Ryan Shazier do exactly what they claim to be trying to prevent over twenty times. I finally came to terms with the fact that the reason the NFL doesn't make a more serious effort to enforce these penalties is because they don't give a drat about Giovanni Bernard. As I watched fans throw cans and bottles at the officials I realized that had more to do with the colors on the uniforms than the fact that that one hit will almost certainly have a major impact on the kid's life. I like the team because I like the players. Players don't give a poo poo about personal fouls because they're called arbitrarily, and until the NFL makes personal fouls reviewable I am not consuming another second of football. I should stop outright regardless, but I love the game. I will miss chatting with y'all but I can't justify following a sport that has such flagrant disregard for the welfare of its players. I'll see y'all in other subforums.

Forgot to bring these gold posts over as well. The stereotypes I associate with black quarterbacks are generally mental. A racist take in and of itself is obviously dumb as hell, but trying to argue that black people can't throw a football isn't something that I've generally heard, no. Maybe it's a bigger thing in college football? I know a lot of black athletes in high school and college ball get pushed away from the quarterback position. I'm probably overthinking it. I'm thinking of specific black quarterbacks over the past like 20 years going back to loving McNabb, and most of the racist takes on them that I remember have had to do with their character or the mental aspects of their game. The only prominent black quarterbacks in the NFL I can think of where people went after their arm are Cam Newton and Lamar. That said, I don't read college boards, I'm sure it's a lot more prominent in the lower leagues before people get filtered out.

There was another random chat(not the FF) I went on and I found some woman who had a website where she chronicled all the creeps who hit on her in chats. This was right after the Ravens won the Superbowl. So I had an idea to make a new account and I pretended to be Ray Lewis trying to hit on her. Just so she would make an entry talking about Ray Lewis and the Ravens that I could read. It worked!! She made it and even had Ray Lewis' mugshot on it and everything. It was like "Guess what?? Ray Lewis from the Baltimore Ravens tried to contact me today!" She knew it wasn't him. But I got the Ravens out there even more.

I had an annoying birding experience today. I stopped at a place on the breshad perriman peninsula in this little wooded lot and played a screech owl+chickadee clip to try to draw in some warblers since I was hearing some call notes. So I did that and a bunch of cyclists came by and stopped and were like "is that real??" and i was like "no it's a recording i'm using to draw down some smaller birds". And the lead cyclist was like "Oh I don't know if that's a good idea. That owl's gonna hear that thinking he found a nice owl girlfriend and then see it's a fuckin radio and he's gonna be PISSED. You're doing bird porn here. Like playboy magazine. Or playBIRD magazine!!!" They said more than that and it went on for like a few uncomfortable minutes. I felt so embarrassed for them. This guy thought it was some hilarious bit he was on. I guess his buddies thought it was funny. But I didn't like it.
