In the original EU the Imperial March was made into the canon anthem for the Empire.

Its good, but I think I prefer Kevin Kiner's take from Rebels, just because its more bombastic.

The ANH Radio Drama heavily implies that the main theme is the alma mater/fight song for the Academy, which I just find delightful.

It was so so good getting some space battle action, but it felt like they were hold back a little.

Does anyone know if the space battle was in the original script, or was part of the re-work?

I remember seeing this in theatre and being more horrified and scared that any scary movie I’d ever seen. They did right by Darth Vader in this movie. :allears:

They probably could’ve left out the scene with Vader and Krennic, then just have a surprise Vader wave-of-destruction barely foreshadowed by Tarkin saying “Lord Vader will handle the fleet”.

It’s still beautiful as it already stands, and probably doesn’t need any tinkering or recontextualizing, though.

I think this scene probably owes something to the second season of Rebels where Vader is something of an onscreen presence. If you watch (and listen) closely you can see Chopper, the Ghost and hear an intercom page for General Syndulla.

This was the climax of the second episode of the season two opener: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppnGoERYmXg

It's a shame that the video games set during The Clone Wars animated series all take place during the first or second season of the show, when they could have been released after the seventh season. Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jedi Alliance for the DS has an original story and relatively good reviews, though

Man, sucks to be Luke eh?

Was really disappointed baby Yoda didn't choose to stay with him. Woulda had a lot more weight to the choice and set him up for showing up down the road. Was also surprised to see them and all the other characters from the Mandelorian show up. I thought this was the book of Boba, but guess not :smith:.

Still, enjoyable enough. Loving these small stakes. Would be nice to see other planets tho in this incredible galaxy far far away.

While I don't think that Grogu would be able to put it that way, I think the main thing isn't that Grogu turned away from becoming a Jedi. It's that he turned away from becoming a Jedi for now. Right now he wants to be with his Helmet Daddy. But in a fairly short time (to Grogu) AKA 50-60 years Din will be bones and dust. At which point he can check in with Luke's successor (Old Lady Rey?) and learn the Jedi ways then.

The Rebel Force Radio podcast had an excellent series in 2014 titled Star Wars Oxygen with composer and sound editor David W. Collins in which they dedicated several episodes to each movie and really went deep on each installment's music, the construction of the themes, the classical inspirations for some of the themes, the unused music you only find on the soundtracks, alternate takes and pretty much everything you could want.

EDIT:
When looking for the link, I found out it's been taken down in the meantime and has become a Patreon exclusice. Dang.

Collins went on to do his own The Soundtrack Show podcast which has several SW episodes basically covering what you mentioned (though only the OT at the moment)

Definitely worth checking out in general, his most recent episodes covering Ocarina of Time are pretty fantastic

If they do The Novella of Boba Fett 2, they need to let Tem be that guy instead of doing the strong, stoic, mildly constipated type. That fun energy he had trying to teach the Sand People to ride Swoop bikes, let that be the rule of the day with maybe Fennec being the voice of reason - at least in a "They're a threat. That's enough reason to kill them." kind of way.

This is one of those things I literally never notice in shows or games unless someone points it out. I'm the lowest common denominator they animate for.

I usually don't notice that much, but this last episode a group of five or so Rebels was in the foreground, and they all fell into a sort of crouch with their arms out, all at the same time, like a weird dance. Then the camera shifted, and three of them turned and... fell into that posture again. It was very bad.

Honestly I don't play the kind of video games where that stuff is a thing. This closest is maybe Epic Battle Fantasy 5 and I mostly keep the idle animations turned off.

At first, I thought it was an artistic choice to have the Imperial Officer's eyes covered by the brim of their hats until someone explained that it's how they get away with using the same Stephen Blum voiced model over and over again without it being painfully obvious.
