Yeah, I mean they stay pretty much true to the movie in that his aim is perfect, and he's an expert in all weapons.

It does make me wonder though, with the whole "smaller bullet" thing in Suicide Squad, did that scene imply they BOTH had superpowered aiming skills to hit each others bullets, or was only Bloodsport aiming to do that so it's actually just him that has Deadshot-level impossible skill and Peacemaker is just really good?

It's possible they just mirrored each other, aiming at the same place, because the movie (Waller) presented them as basically the same character. But since Bloodsport came on top at the end I think it's safe to say that the movie established him as the (slightly?) better marksman.

Yes, and it'd probably look like this:

Gunn has definitely read the original Charlton comics from 1967 to prepare for this show.

In the 1967 comics, Christopher Smith is a polymath debonair James Bond/Bruce Wayne like guy who gets into Gardner Fox style science adventures against mad scientists, terrorists, mutants, crypto creature menaces and often uses his brains to get out of jams. He works with a Swiss blonde assistant who helps load his private jet fighter with various weapons.. He lives in an opulent private estate called the Peace Palace where he keeps his jet and a fabulous science lab and keeps inventing stuff like Reed Richards.

He also flew around a lot with a jet pack of his own design.

2022 Peacemaker: Christopher Smith is purposely written like the total opposite of 1967, a thug like guy who borrows devices from his supervillain white supremacist dad and kills without remorse and beats his enemies through superior fist power or firepower. It's amazing he can step outside his door without injuring himself. He lives alone in a humble trailer and sometimes visits Vig to blow up stuff in the woods like good ol' boys.

When we eventually (hopefully) see him flying through the air holding his dinky pocket fan it will be once again the total opposite image of 1967 PM with his fiery jetpack blazing with guns in both hands.

Welp, in 1967 the scabies helmet was used to allow Chris to withstand extreme heat, like inside a volcano, so I guess that's just Gunn totally corrupting its original purpose again

Is Goff destined to starve to death?

I don't know how I feel about Vigilante as a character. On one hand he was funny, but he's also a complete psychopath who kills people for minor crimes like graffiti, and he really didn't have any character growth by the end of this season.

Might want to watch the finale again.

Goff is probably going to starve to death yes

e: I read that as Peacemaker because I am dumb. Yea, nothing really happened with Vigilante. Which is fine I guess. Judomaster also exists and didn't really do anything.

Of the main team the people are:

Someone who does the exact same thing.
Two members of a government death squad made up of slave labor.
An alien that has cored out the brain of a psychotic black ops killer.
Amanda Waller's daughter.

None of them are normal.

I guess my sticking point is that there was growth during the season for some characters. Peacemaker realized on some level that his indiscriminate killing in the name of peace was BS, and Adebayo spilled the secrets of the whole black ops.

It might just be a thing with Gunn as a writer. I felt like the ending of SS was pretty nihilistic.

What was nihilistic about it? The main characters saved a city, stuck it to Waller, and became best friends.

I didn't like the fact they dropped the involvement of the US government with Star-O. Flagg gave his life to get the hard drive, and the rest of the crew fought off Peacemaker to keep it. Then at the end they realize they could blackmail Waller with it, and that's it? It felt selfish for rest of the crew, especially for Harley who was closest to Flagg.

There's also a scene towards the end with them walking away from the score of dead civilians that felt gross to me. It felt like a ton of over the top gore and destruction and nothing was really fixed in the world except for the immediate issue with Star-O.

What are you talking about, they were criminals, they committed crimes ergo it's fine. The next time you go to the library and they actually have the book you're looking for, that's because Vigilante killed the miscreant who kept forgetting to return stealing them. How can you not love the guy?

This is actually exactly what the original ending was. Ratcatcher 2 would hand over the drive and promptly have her head popped. Gunn realized this was horrifying and depressing and changed it.
