In keeping with the thread's title, Fingerpori.

The literal Finnish equivalent to "skin and bones" is "bones and leather", but that still only explains half of it. For the rest we need to know that the Finnish for a broom is "luuta", which is also the partitive form of "luu", bone.

So the old lady can either be saying that Kyösti is now all bone and leather, or that now Kyösti only has a broom and leathers.

I think most nicotine vapes are those giant bulky robot cocks but weed vapes tend to be long and thin because the cartridge is like two inches long and a quarter inch in diameter, and the batteries tend to be four inches long or so and the same diameter, so maybe she's getting baked?

Yeah I can see why like, predators that would need surgical intervention to digest plants are not doing that, but Coney should be encouraged to eat plants as much as possible. It's not like you can't satisfy chasing and catching instincts without murder, that's literally what cat toys are.

It's possible that Coney is an obligate carnivore -- she can't get the nutrients she needs without a li'l murder

There's also Lindesfarne who can clearly live off of plants and chooses not to, since she spent most of her juvenile years not even knowing she was an insectivore species. Hell, she only even embraced that side of her because it would have allowed her to legally murder the girl Fenton cheated on her with.

I think the general problem with Holbrook is that he approaches his strips like they're gag-a-day strips, but then he's both very careful to maintain continuity and intentionally dives into difficult topics and metaphors for real social problems.

That's why I said as much as possible! Jokes aside Holbrook treats her more like an outdoor cat slaughtering wildlife for fun than someone hunting for food, given she's tiny and yet is apparently causing a local extinction crisis.

We're taking another extended break from the regular, weekly published Vater & Sohn stories, because now is a very good time to get into some extra content. Over the following days we'll read strips that were originally published in collected editions, and then get into some other stuff.

When we return to regular weeklies, nothing will ever be quite the same again for Vater & Sohn.
