his chosen picture, on his home page https://www.utu.fi/fi/ihmiset/janne-korhonen https://research.utu.fi/converis/portal/detail/Publication/35698590?lang=fi_FI quote:The possibility that extraterrestrial intelligences (ETIs) could be hostile to humanity has been raised as a reason to avoid even trying to contact ETIs. However, there is a distinct shortage of analytical discussion about the risks of an attack, perhaps because of an implicit premise that we cannot analyze the decision making of an alien civilization. This paper argues that we can draw some inferences from the history of the Cold War and nuclear deterrence in order to show that at least some attack scenarios are likely to be exaggerated. In particular, it would seem to be unlikely that the humanity would be attacked simply because it might, sometime in the future, present a threat to the ETI. Even if communication proves to be difficult, rational decision-makers should avoid unprovoked attacks, because their success would be very difficult to assure. In general, it seems believable that interstellar conflicts between civilizations would remain rare. The findings advise caution for proposed interstellar missions, however, as starfaring capability itself might be seen as a threat. On the other hand, attempting to contact ETIs seems to be a relatively low-risk strategy: paranoid ETIs must also consider the possibility that the messages are a deception designed to lure out hostile civilizations and preemptively destroy them. well this is not very posadist at all

Russia is a weak dictators toilet that he has been using to relive the glory days of the USSR while the people suffer. Russia deserves better and Ukraine doesn’t deserve to be invaded. The west is right to support Ukraine so that everyone knows that puppet governments don’t get to just invade any sovereign nation without consequences. Saying it will start world war 3 is motivation for us to do nothing. Not unlike what the folks said prior to world war 2 before Pearl Harbor. We are obligated to help who we can because that is our role. Putin has an army, not an insurgency. This is exactly the war the US military was designed to fight and US soldiers have been fighting for decades. Let the hammer hit a nail for once.

you know where quote:You can’t do nothing with fascist dictators! How many times do we have to learn this lesson as a species? When a fascist dictator decides to start grabbing poo poo, it’s time to do something about it. Putin is a thug that needs to be dealt with. Don’t invade Russia but make Ukraine a hard stopping point. Make him grind his army to dust in the Donbas. Some real healthy minds at work on these forums

for those of you wondering whats being referred to here quote:It led The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin to add yesterday, “Trump’s foreign policy sought to do much of what Putin wants to achieve, including intimidating Ukraine by withholding vital defensive weapons.” it rules how ukraine getting buttloads of weapons has stopped being a thing that was ever controversial and is now just the default behavior that every good stateman would want to do lets never mind the fact that the weapons were giving ukraine right now dont seem to be doing anything except making putin condescendingly chuckle

Unless he meant it's 2003 with the roles reversed because Russia criticized our invasion while we're criticizing theirs now, but I don't think that's the point he was trying to make. I guess he's consistent in opposing critics of both invasions though.
