I just randomly realized something, in the first episode of Frasier he lives in the same condo he does the rest of the series, but neither Daphne nor his father are staying with him yet. So it it's just him in a giant 3 bedroom condo, I know Seattle housing was cheaper in the 90s, but seriously how much does being a radio psychologist pay?

Just a cursory google houses in seattle market were averaging below 400k in 2007 so depending on where he lived a condo seems not like Friends apartment insane affordable.

Friends at least attempts to explain it by saying it's an illegal sublet of a rent-controlled apartment. Frasier's apartment view doesn't actually exist in Seattle and they never specify a neighborhood so it's impossible to narrow down where it's located, but I have to think anything with a view of the Space Needle costs more than the median house. But also, why did he get a 3 bedroom? I could see a two bedroom since he had a kid (that he saw like 4 times over 11 years), but 3? I mean, I know it's because the plan for the show involved Martin and Daphne living with him and they didn't feel like making a completely separate place for him for the first episode and have a "moving into a bigger place" sub plot, but it's just funny to think about those kind of things to me.

Yeah, but that thread was like mostly those kinds of posts with a few insane leftists posting stuff like 1 million dead american soldiers never breach the walls of Iraq.

It was a great thread and D&D really needs threads like that again.

Mom was born right after WW2 never knowing her dad as he got executed by some IJA gently caress heads before she was born and grew up in post war/Korean war peasant farming country. Like, no poo poo if the harvest is bad this year we might starve this winter levels of poverty. She doesn't talk a lot about those years as a kid but she has told a couple stories like how she had nightmares about after a trap they dug to catch a stray dog to eat and it ended up burning alive screaming because it didn't die instantly. Bounced around relatives while her mom moved around working but eventually moved to I think Gangnam and found work in the city at a age most of us would think of as abusive child labor. Said things were pretty bad for awhile when she was young, but they got better and then she met my dad and moved to the states and they got married. She watches a lot of Korean broadcast tv and cannot believe how much has changed, and is for sure it wouldn't be prosperous and full of weirdos in K pop groups or making video channels laughing at white people eating Korean spicy food if the Americans hadn't poured money into the country and let the North Koreans and Chinese had take over.

I can't help but wonder if the Hunter Biden storyline was intended not only as a useful foil for the election but for a situation like this where they can now spin stories of the US is only getting involved to cover up the real truth, or Biden is only helping Ukraine because they bribed his son.

I haven't seen those stories yet, too focused on gender still
