I've literally heard 30-35 year olds, who've had smartphones for 15 years, who are continuously glued to their phones 24/7, complain that young people these days are far too into their phones. Nothing changes. Nothing will change.

People should start posting poo poo like "there are these two old guys that walk by my house every day, at the same time. I think they might be casing the neighbourhood looking for places to break in. My friend in (other neighbourhood) said there were some old guys walking around there every day and then his neighbour got broken in to. And as soon as that happened, he stopped seeing those old guys. Keep an eye out folks, you don't know who THESE PEOPLE are".

I need to put up feeders for the mourning doves. The HOA’s ISP technician, who I now refer to as Internet Steve, was outside working on something for my connection, and said two mourning doves were hanging out and cooing at him. When he left, they tried to follow him up the sidewalk

The pigeons at my apartment complex are too smart to hang out on my balcony, but despite constant pursuit by my cat, the mourning doves love to perch in empty flower pots there. One day, they left me a single tiny egg. That's my dove story.

Thankfully I don't have to deal with an HOA, but just throwing birdseed everywhere is a good way to get rats. My town has had a problem since backyard chicken coops became a thing - the extra food people would leave around attracted rats which then started getting in to houses. In my neighborhood I have seen rodents crossing the street at night a few times - the little fuckers get around.

We have big fat pigeons that come sit on our fence and they were chasing the little birds off the feeders. So my Mum taught our little terrier the command 'Birdies!' and if she hears that, she knows we're about to open the back door so she can rocket out hollering her tiny head off. The pigeons fly away and she struts around the garden feeling as if she is the Hunting Queen Of The World. all proud. Here she is, impatiently waiting to be let outside.
