After getting 42 followers we can use some steel and components to build an ad server. Every 15 days it will provide 60 silver. Not a lot, but it'll add up as we build up more servers.

Some traders showed up and brought one of these. Besides the weird gas they are constantly spewing....

They can also turn plants into other, hosed up looking plants. You assholes, I need that weed

Even worse, this stuff spreads not unlike blight.

I get enough wood for a double bed and then I use Lynneth and bios' old bed to be used for visitors, and already we have our first guest: Salmon. Lets take a peek at their ideology....

Oh my god.

Hope you don't mind my slapdash set up here for a working plumbing system. That building next to the batteries is a solar water heater, this way I can heat up the water without using up precious electricity or worse, using up my wood. And I put some wall fridges at the end of the fridge to hold meals, the dining room will be outdoors along the beach. So the cook can deposit food directly to the fridge and the eaters wont have to go all the way into the kitchen to get food.

Hrm... actually...

It'd make more sense for the chef to go directly to these wall fridges after finishing rather than having to go into the fridge to get the materials, back into the kitchen, then back into the fridge to drop the stuff off. I'm keeping the room bigger should I need to add more kitchen stuff.

Never doubt the importance of a laborer who works around the clock and doesn't care about seeing dead bodies!

Got the basic set up for the colony done. Just need to get more research in, and some Hisa guests.

I get bios to start fishing as there are exactly 2 animals on the map. Gonna need to get our protein somehow. Though really produce is also a problem, getting cucumbers takes so loving long to pull out of the ground. Like Lynneth will be able to get 4 crops out before the end of a day. I'm beelining automated crop growing, but that requires a hi tech research bench which needs microelectronics... why didn't I just start myself with that research?

Woof. Also note the file cabinet in the corner of that room. Get that research done faster!

Oh jeeze, of course one of the raiders was one of those jackasses that leave a mine behind when they die. And they shattered Godna's vacuum shell, making them move at almost half speed :argh:

Oh hey bios and Lynneth got married. Again, that was quick. I did install a mod that reworks the romance in this game, guess it speeds things up. Remember last colony had 2 couples that never got married, despite getting proposed like a year prior.

Hello darkness my old friend :byodood:

.
Alright I get microelectronics researched and throw up a hi tech bench and I get a communication console set up just to call the Hisa enclave and tell them to send potential recruits

What... what the gently caress. Why so long :psyduck: I'll have like 10 raids in that time! They're starting to have more people in them too. Why didn't I go with Igor on my cannibal playthrough?

Hey at least now we can enjoy the black insect jelly!

Never thought I'd be using shopping carts for cover.

Oh... oh no. You're kidding me, a desert that isn't a permanent summer but only has half the year as a growing season? Alright we uh, we might have some problems here. There is absolutely no wild plants growing that I could coast on, and the wildlife is already barebones as is. Even with fishing bios isn't pulling in enough to make a good amount of meals. Two gazelles did pop up, giving me a decent bit of meat and I did get some rice in. A greenhouse is going to be too power intensive.

Looks like I'm gonna have to be using Lynneth's Home Cooking ability to try and spread out the meals as much as possible. And I'll have to set Lynneth to not eat, just recharge off the batteries.

Oh my god, are you serious? Not only did they all bring EMP grenades, one of them brought 2.

Oh neat, some boots. And a hat that increases slave suppression rate when the warden wears it.

Finally the Hisa guests arrived. Sadly I didn't have enough wood to get another bed set up. Thats fine, Asne is the one I'm trying to recruit. They're actually a better cook than Lynneth, and they are a good shot. Not much skill in much else, but they do have a single flame in artist. Could have them grind that out while letting bios focus on other stuff. Really I need more guns.

I built a little extension to serve as a storage room, best to get all that crap out of the main building. I also got a very useful weapons locker placed, which will hold up to 30 weapons. Considering weapons take up a whole spot and can't be stacked...

Would love to help ya dawg, mostly to get some mechanoid parts with a tiny mech raid. But if you're going to be picky about where you hide in safety well...

I mean, you're asking for your own room in a club of hedonists.

Ah yes there we go, managed to get someone before they left.

Drakenel has some decent traits, tough is *always* a welcome trait. Gonna hook them up with a bolt action rifle for now, but once I get a decent quality shotty I'll hand it over. I'll build an art bench in the storage room and have her convert all the non important blocks into art pieces to grind up her artist skill. I'll also start breaking down sandstone chunks into blocks for this use, marble and limestone will be kept for more important stuff.

Now the fun part.... chipping away at the ideology. Heretic gets 10% of the way through... it takes 3 days for convert to get off cooldown. Gonna be a long one. Whats great is Drakenel's ideology has a huge bigotry bias, so they have -5 mood for being led by us, plus another -9 for diverse thoughts. And they're gonna hate living in a barracks... Oh and their ideology doesn't allow drug use.

Oh yeah, you're gonna go logging? Good luck with that, jackasses.

Wait are those bows you're all holding? Looks like we'll be logging today.

Sick burn aside, thats my bamboo you fuckers, it isn't even grown enough to provide anything :argh:

Yeeep....

Oh God...na. Can they make it to safety :ohdear:

*dabbing sweat off forehead meme*

You know all this raiding aint that bad. They bring in a steady amount of booze, medicine and silver!

Same.

Wait what? You get less mood bonus for having a fancier barrack? I didn't realize this was the ascetic socialist mod. This sucks. Everyone better be in a polycule when it comes time to sell the colony so I can remove the barracks precept.

It really is self defeating when you consider a barracks by definition would have multiple beds, and each bed makes the room more impressive. Unless you're building multiple barracks.

Huh, now suddenly this guy is fine with coming in, despite not getting a room all to himself? Is this a thing where their standards drop when you don't accept it for a while? Cause I don't have a fully floored room with a free double bed.

Huh, Doukid is packing some heat. I mean, no armor. But dual laser swords? His companion, the champion, has some better armor but...

A wooden warhammer? Perhaps m'lord could fend off his pursuers if he handed just one of his swords to his bodyguard? Anyways, Doukid is complaining about not getting his special room, but whatever he only has to deal with it for 20 hours.

Oh thats funny, the raids were delayed.

To the point the guy can take on off without worrying about the mechs. Later I guess. Bios is now a Freeholder in the empire, not enough to get a psylink.

Little late there chums.

I hug the wall and let them come to me, get rid of their advantage at range.

Yeah your burning weapons don't work too well when it isn't a wood colony, don't it :argh:

And we got some incapacitated ones, eh?

Why. Did. You. Take. It. Why do I need to tell people whose ideologies forbid drugs to not take drugs? Speaking of drugs, bios got an infection in their arm. Thankfully I have 30 medkits from all these raids.

I'm having more cold related issues in a desert than the last colony, go figure. Whats the point of an oasis if its frozen over!?

Finally got a chemfuel generator going to give me a more reliable source of power. I also got a biofuel refiner up to turn that insect meat into fuel and I got a fuel pump installed on a fuel pond just outside of the colony.

I think I know who posts in the climate thread in CSPAM :smuggo:

... Why are boomalopes hanging around the generators? Boomalopes, stop hanging around the generators. How am I supposed to hunt you if doing so would blow up my power?

This rear end in a top hat was eating directly out of the fridge, I wasn't gonna let that stand

Well now I don't have to worry about running out of meat. Just need some veggies :(

Oooh, well I'm sure bios and their now 19 shooting will love this.

:getin:

After researching machining we can start breaking down mechoids for parts

Before we could only shut down collapsed mechoids, but now that we have a hacking table...

BUCKHEAD. HERETIC NAMED IT BUCKHEAD.

Now that we got.. Buckhead... We put 'em on this here mechoid platform and it will slowly patch him up. Assuming we keep it full of mechoid parts. I'll shutdown that lancer for its parts so Buckhead can walk at some point.

Was there... always a ritual that the leader could do to convert someone? I swore it was tied to the cooldown of the moral guide's convert ability. And holy poo poo, this was a "masterful" conversion so Drakenel is immedaitely part of the faith. Why didn't I try this earlier?

Enjoy your first real beer!

Jokes on you, the anima tree is nice and safe inside of our bong. If it wants to stay out there then fine by me, surely a raid will run into it at some point.

... For example :v:

Bios engages in the Virtuous Mission and uses a cloaking device to get close...

:getin:

... Or some jackass can have tranq nades and completely undo my plan. Thats cool too.

Time to send out Buckhead.

Well was hoping he woulda been more use before the enemy retreated. Whatever, you shot the back of that guy good Buckhead.

Buckhead.

Oh hey its that time of the year! Time for everyone to stand around the tree and expect free poo poo from one another.

And yes, even Godna gets to attend. Sadly because of how cold it is no ambrosia sprouts. Probably should've thought of that :saddumb:

Oh hey!

There, now we have a Crazy Animal. Now stop complaining :argh:

How is the colony that is all about party party and living the easy life one of the roughest starts so far?

Now we got Buckhead support us properly, but of course this time like half the raiders are using grenades.

Its great when the enemy is a bunch of grenade chuckers who apparently will fight to the last man and they just one shot a mech with a grenade. Wish I could do that.

I'll note that I COULD have built a replacement, for only 15 steel. See, my dumbass misread that was "your colonists can shred the mechoid for 15 steel" Rip Buckhead

The snow is melting and wildlife is starting to come into the colony! We have survived the winter! Bios is just gonna have to deal with seeing all those dead bodies.

Igor... you're a loving dick!

No one is stepping outside.

Nice perk to the constant raids.

Didn't even have to get involved. Except their useless asses only stunned 2 of the drat things and hardly did any damage to them :argh:

Once the coast is clear Lynneth goes out and starts planting seeds again. Hopefully this time there is less clusterfuck in getting crops going.

I can't think of any better reason to start a party.

Sounds like someone is asking to get their barracks redecorated with ROCKS AND SKELETONS

Or you can skip a step and just make them sleep on the ground? Or instead of having individually-assigned beds maybe there's a mod that lets you just designate a communal area for ["if you can find an open bed/couch/beach blanket sleep on that, if there's someone there sleep on top of them... i don't care just organize your own fuckstack logistics"]

As we have recreation loved the moodlet for parties is far larger.

Finally, our first step in automation. A machine that will turn chunks into blocks, saving our crafting labor for other stuff.

I just about run out of steel and can't find any veins on the edges of the various hills, so I use up what I have left to make a smelter to start putting all these weapons that the raiders drop to use. I don't have any animals to help with carrying everything to a nearby trader. Not that I need to, I'm rolling nearly 4k silver at this point just from guests and rimbook ads.

My god I am never going to harvest bamboo, am I?

Oh thank god, give me all that wood, Skunk, if that is your name.

Thought I was far enough away from these guys but then they just yanked Lynneth over with that summon bullshit

You'd think it wouldn't be bad because Heretic can heal, except I swear every time there is a wounded colonist the game just wont let them draw a blue card so I can use the healing spell.

Thank god, my long power nightmare is over. I have been coasting strictly off bios' spare battery ability.

Never thought there'd be a day where I say "thank god mechs are attacking". Now that I got the colony enclosed they're attacking random walls, gonna need to start building the outer area so they funnel back into the stem.

I thought Igor doubled damage, so why wont they loving die? Lynneth is in some random corner of the map being chased by a tick that wont die despite being shot about 20 times and having 2 knives that cause bleeding at it.

Look I'm just saying, when MY mechanoid dies to a single grenade, I think its only fair hostile ones die when shot several dozen times and had several abilities used on it.

Now that this room is actually considered a room I can finally use it for rituals.

Even Godna does a jig :)

What music do you think they dance to?

Now that the primary colony is all enclosed, I should get to work on what is going to be the automated, factory part of the colony. What should I build.....

:haibrow:

The idea is this second one will be open, so raids will run into there.

I get droid repair kits researched so I can finally fix up Godna. Its just all around good to have them performing at peak efficiency

Having him be quicker to cremate all these drat bodies will also be nice. Get some fertilizer going for when I build up the greenhouse. Sadly its going to be a minute before I can get a smart recycler to disassemble the clothing. At least I can smelt down any armor.

Oh hey, looks like Dre managed to escape Eminem's basement.

Just chuck him into the corner of the shower room, it'll be fine. I'm not looking to have him join, but to get the relationship boost.

Igor you buffoon! Its supposed to be eggplants, not squash!

And then Heretic hooks up with one of the guests. Er, ok. Whatever. Would've preferred taking other colonists as a lover.

More mechs showed up, I had bios throw down some thorns to get them damaged while they walk towards everyone. Gonna say though... those brambles last way longer than I thought and everyone kept walking over them and getting injured. And none of the mechoids survived to be hacked, really wanted a scyther.

Meet Veloxyll, our medic bot. Now there will always be a robot on hand to patch up any wounds and even do some surgeries. Remember, I'm not making chromed up super soldiers so no worries about being locked to 10 medical. As a bonus, Veloxyll will have lots of downtime so they can worry about cleaning or keeping up with hauling. And since they wont be doing any time consuming tasks, they should always be at the ready to heal people up.

This building is a drone printer, which only builds specialist drones. Besides the two we've seen, we can also print a chef drone, a rancher drone, a logistics drone, a think tank drone and a firefighter drone. The other 2 need more research before being used. Just gonna say, the rancher drone is NOT a farming drone, its explicitly an animal handling drone.

In fact here is something I neglected to show off last colony even though I did use it: In the assignment tab you can now tell your colonists to carry x amount of a certain type of medicine. This way your doctors will always have some on hand for emergency healing. May not be a bad idea to have everyone carry a kit or two, that way if your doctor ran out of medkits in the middle of a fight they can use another pawn's kit.

A party to celebrate the new robot!

Dear god what is THIS thing (blood kept in screenshot for added effect)

Why does the second paragraph start with a period? It confuses and angers me.

Anyways we need its lizardmeats so pop.

Urg, oh no. I should probably really prioritize getting a greenhouse set up.

I get bios to throw down water to turn the sand into soil, where I can then use fertilizer to plow. Sadly bios' pocket sand will not put soil on the stone. Thankfully Godna can dig up dirt to place on the stone flooring.

Robots working together :)

So this quest popped up and I was planning on ignoring it, but considering its hitting 120 outside and 100 inside, and the fridge is in the 70s... Maybe this volcanic winter can offset this heat wave. I accept it for the vanometric power cell. A colony like this can't have enough free power.

I figure it is finally time to pop the ancient danger.

... Thats it? A single mechoid tick? I feel ripped off! The hermatic crate contained a techprint for skin hardening, which are implants that will increase defense at a cost of beauty. So no one will be having one :v:

I'm gonna wait a bit before popping open those caskets. I got a few things in mind.

You know, I don't mind that its a siege. In fact the more raids where they don't just charge me is great, because it means I can use my long rifles to engage only a few of these assholes rather than desperately exhausting all my CC options trying to tie down 10 raiders just doing the Serious Sam yell and rushing my colonists.

And just look at all of those goodies left behind!

Everyone is just *constantly* getting hosed up though. Heretic, it would be really nice if you could draw a blue card at any point.

Cause if these wounds could be healed immediately things like this wouldn't happen.

I like that my combat capabilities has not risen one bit and yet the raids just get more and more numerous. 14 people this raid. Hey that feralisk is still hanging around.

Alright, now assuming there isn't another jackass with a tranq nade to instantly undo my perfect strategy....

I get bios to jetpack to safety by the way.

I also set up some traps down this little spout of the second bong. Just need to place some cover at the other end.

Another raid showed up, what makes this one noteable is that they also showed up when some traders were stopping over. So thats one group taken care of, this is one of those fun ones with multiple raid groups.

Igor sends a feast! Even if the scaria rots them they can still be used for fertilizer!

There is even a caravan passing by, absorbing some of the... wait is that a

GOD loving DAMMIT

Lets look at something besides fighting, as part of the high life we can put down psychedelic carpet. Its hella expensive though, 35 cotton for a single tile. A bulk trader stopped by and I swiped up all their carpet and this is all it managed to fill.

God loving drat finally. I desperately need more guns, preferably held by people who don't get infections. Now for the next problem: I do not have enough components to make one, and I do not have any advance components to make a fabrication bench to make more components. It is winter and having one of my limited people go to the nearest town will be over 2 days roundtrip.

... Don't play with my heart like this Igor. This gets me enough components to begin printing my first battle droid :woop:

My god, look at him. Isn't he so beautiful? So people who played with androids or read the last LP may be confused: I have a mod that adds advance versions of the droid and wardroids so they can compete with regular pawns. For some reason their look replaces the look for the lower tiered droids.

I want to get some more, I really need to get some melee users. I guess I can have Jack here carry a melee weapon as well. Actually... I got an idea. It'll be great.

Why hello there. Two snipers, an LMG and a whole bunch of yayo?

Which will be useful against this here group of mechoids. Just gonna do the ol' trick of hide in a corner then pop out when they don't get their range advantage.

And then bios switched over to some grenades when one of the mechs got close and blew up both themselves and their cover. Fantastic. But its fine, Heretic actually drew a blue card and patched them all up!

Now one of the mechs that survived was a Jaeger, who uses pneumatic fists to punch stuff. I do need some melee so lets hack it.

Oh dear lord. Why. Am I obligated to misspell this name whenever it is mentioned?

In other news, a PRF ship flew overhead and it had a smart recycler. Remember this is a machine that will let me break down any weapon or apparel down. So all the tainted clothing laying around can be turned into proper textiles. Also it can shred mechoids, meaning the colonists wont need to worry about that.

Slowly but surely automation is taking over and I can FINALLY do the whole club thing

Got the greenhouse started. I'm sure I'll expand it, for now though I'm just making sure it works. We're actually good on food for now, I'll get cotton going so we can get proper carpeting.

It's all starting to come together. Like 2 years later. Good lord this colony is a clusterfuck.

:stare:

:stwoon:

Finally a scyther of our own :getin:

New holiday celebration :toot:

I love that Jack is attending and is all bandaged up. What I didn't love was the ritual being boring and giving everyone -1 mood. Everyone is currently miserable because I don't have any alcohol coming in, nor deserts. Guess I should've grown cocoa and barley instead.

And then a solar flare happened. Did I set it to Randy?

I pop open the caskets and huh, no hostiles. There is another Hisa though and... her name is Lela? Oh thats *great* They're a pyromaniac but what can possibly go wrong?

In this colony?

Oh? Are you now?

Welcome to confinement! Means we can get you converted before you join anyways.

I'm glad I got a scyther just for raiders to decide they're gonna ignore being attacked by one and just run past it anyways.

How the gently caress do tranqs work on robots?! loving raider bingo, free spot is tranq grenades.

Used the hold 'em ability, pretty drat useful actually if the enemy actually bothers to clump up.

loving Igor, c'mon man. We JUST had a siege, you gave everyone the flu right when we finished, had the prisoner start a fire spree and then when I send someone over to calm them down it starts a social fight? Can we just like, take a day off?

And now I got the skip researched, finally I can actually go out and do stuff. I'm surprised that in a flatland desert it takes as long as it does to get to our immediate neighbors. I send Lynneth off to offload all of the textiles that are piling up and pick up a little something for the road.

Slight rework of the kill-stem. Embrasures so melee people can't overwhelm the defenders, also more cover from fire. I'm gonna close off the other stem to make sure the enemy comes in through this direction.

I swiped a psychic harmonizer. What this does is project the pawn's mood onto other nearby pawns, positive or negative. I figure since bios is the only one with a spouse and getting that loving bonus that they would be the best candidate.

... What... what the actual hell. Why is everything in this colony going so wrong? So now bios has a constant -5 for minor pain.

But hey, its working. Little things.

Now that I got a fabrication bench going, the near constant source of steel from the raids gets me enough to build up NGDBSS here. A bonus to having these wardroids is now I can set them to hunt and not have to dick around with manual hunting.

I.. was not aware that battle droids can make wort. Interesting. After getting hops grown I also got some cocoa bushes going, soon our pawns will no longer face (alcohol) sobriety or sugar withdrawls!

And Lela joins, our fifth non robot colonists. No more organic colonists will be getting recruited, as I can only bring 5 between colonies when I go for the archonexus ending. Whats that, why didn't I rename this colonist?

I mean

I mean "Lela" is an anagram of "Leal"

Now I just need to let the steel flow in, get more robots, let research go ahead while the club can FINALLY start getting set right. Time to celebrate!

Thats a... interesting subject to bring up.

Now that things are calming down, and with more colonists besides, I can start expanding the ad servers. I researched all the way to advance, but advance requires constructing 15 to build. And Godna can't gain any skills, this may be an issue for later constructions that have a skill requirement. There may be something to help with that though...

Speaking of servers, maybe its time to expand out what followers we can get. Meet the RimHub bench. Yes. Simps will reward our ad servers with gold. Whats nice about these tables, there is no quality concerns, but they still give crafting xp. Gonna learn how to make mastercraft shirts by smiling at a webcam all day.

Tribals showed up and tried their classic human wave tactic, but its at this point I finally use bios' Haywire Snowmaker which proceeds to cause all of these tribals to lose their digits to frostbite

BWAHAHAHA, GOOD JOB JACKASS!

Not a single one of my pawns got hit

More combat droids more combat droids more combat droids. Meet Dervin, I need a dedicated melee droid.

Don't think I mentioned it, but I shifted the double fridge over as the chef can't access it diagonally, so they'd run all around to get outside to put food away. I threw a single fridge to hold beers for that frosty buff. Also if you look on the edges of the hallway, there are some rainbow colored lights. They change colors, adding to the psychedalicness. Just need cotton. Like thousands.

As for the black flooring? I'll explain that another time.

Welcome Cugel, chef drone. While our meals may be artisinally made via androids, chef drone here can handle butchering AND gardening.

I'm expanding the greenhouse, gonna need something dedicated. I'm going without the factory drones because I'll need to make all those parts needed and they only cover so much space, meanwhile Cugel here can handle any grow zone anywhere.

I got a gem of arcane insight made and grabbed a book of demonology. This turns Lela into a succubus class. This makes ever female hate her for being envious of their looks :v: The abilities are:

Soul Bond will bind the succubus, or the male version: Warlock, to another pawn. This will empower the succubus while weakening the bondee. This then gives two more abilities, one to summon the bondee to the bonder and one for the opposite.

Shadow Bolt is an AOE damage spell

Dominate will weaken the target, with the possibility of weakening other nearby pawns

Attraction will pull nearby pawns to a single point.

Scorn is an ability that turns the pawn into a winged demon. Its a masterclass spell and needs a scroll to be learned.

Now as for who to bond... just hold onto that thought.

Ooh now thats an interesting one. I do need more meat... They had some juice on them, plasteel, gold... not bad.

Ooh, a nice little bonus to all these raids is that I don't really have to worry about making my own weapons. And yes, those are a bunch of spike traps.

Another robot, meet KingDoom, a Think Bot. They can research, which means nearly 24/7 research! I can lower the priority on the other pawns for research and let King take care of it all.

Using the proceeds from making baby noises on Rimtube I get an orb of the eternal. People who read the last LP knows what these are all about : They can heal any one thing on a pawn. One of the four (!) scars in bios' brain gets healed. Gotta keep an eye out for more of these.

Now for the main part of the primary bong I start turning the sand into soil so anima grass can be grown. I swore I read that you don't need a tribal background to make anima grass grow, but I guess thats wrong? My pawns aren't able to do it, unless its because I don't have a psylink. However tribal guests will meditate around it so hey, it all works out.

As for whats going on at the bottom, that is part of a spaceport mod. Soon ships should be landing down and bringing guests over. As the anima grass starts growing in I'll move these to.. somewhere else. Not sure where exactly.

Oh god dammit. With all of these robots there isn't enough power to keep them all charged. I set droid batteries to be researched (thankfully its only 500 research points) and get batteries made to charge Godna up. After that I set tidal generators to be researched so I can take advantage of all this ocean. I'll also need bigger batteries to keep a backstock, weirdly enough having 7 droids that can slurp up a hunk of power can drain regular batteries really quick.

I built up some hibernation pods to throw the wardroids into while they're not in combat and I don't need any hauling/hunting done, to keep them from draining the batteries.

Ahahaha oh my loving god. This is a keeper.

Oh hey, I forgot that there was things BESIDES raids that could happen in this game. I'll just leave this be for now, cause I'm positive a raid is only 10 hours away that I can try to turn against this.

For example, a siege can land nearby.

I get bios to activate the mechs and then run over to the siege.... wait why is that mortar blueprint gold?

I am... flattered that these people brought a golden mortar to blow me up.

And then bios jetpacks to safety while they duke it out.

Of course they set everything on fire. Why wouldn't I get rewarded for being clever like this?

Oh hey this finally popped up. So we need to ally with this one faction and make our colony worth a lot of cash. Only the fanciest of clubs will do!

Sappers coming in through the greenhouse. And of course INSTANTLY all the plants start dying out :argh:

I'm gonna prioritize getting melee based mechoids. Having a bunch of them just rush gunners would be really useful when so many raiders show up that the drat embrasures get destroyed within 10 seconds of a fight starting.

Alright I have finally did it, I built a turret. Look in awe everyone!

Will it be able to stand up against the 40+ tribal raid?! Also I expanded out this stem so I can have a longer line to throw bullets downrange.

Of course not. Maybe I should place a turret in a random corner so everyone will be happy there is one somewhere.

I capture Colnoca here, he'll have a use for this colony, to make up for destroying our venerated turret.

Right after enslaving him he'll get his own bionic, which he should consider an honor since no one besides bios has one.

And now in exchange for being bed ridden and needing to be fed twice as often, he will mine psicoins that we can then sell.

It comes with a hefty penalty to mood and, oh hey he is also a cannibal. Good thing he is bed ridden, he is gonna HATE it here.

In other news, time for another winter party. Lots more robo-buddies this go around :3:

This is loving Colnoca's fault

Eeeeeey the main hallway has been fully carpeted! Now to do the rest of the rooms.... Just doing that extra guest room is over a thousand cotton

While searching around the map for any steel slag I found this corpse and holy poo poo, an excellent quality monosword? Don't mind if I do!

Wait, Lela was found in a casket and was buried who knows how long ago. You'd think Heretic would've mentioned something when they popped open the caskets and oh hey there is my sister's lover.

.... Oh god this means Heretic boinked their sister's lover. And Lela boinked their lover's sister. Time to close the thread.

Aaah, clearly this character should've been my stand in. I know all about being sedentary but working real hard when you got a comfy seat *laughs nervously at my horrific video LP update schedule*

*blink blink* Why the gently caress wont anyone date each other in this colony besides bios and Lynneth?

Speaking of lovers and whatnot, that reminds me now that Colnoca is here, Lela will form a soul bond. Not like he is doing much! At rank 1 soul bound gives +15% movement, manipulation and sight, along with +5 pain threshold and +10% immunity gain speed. Putting 3 ranks into it will gives +30 to move, manipulation and sight, +10% breathing, +20% immunity gain speed and +10% pain shock threshold.

At level 1 the bondee apparently loses all feeling of pain, -30% sight, -10% breathing, -20% immunity gain speed and -10% pain shock threshold.... even though they they cannot feel pain?

I... should probably put the trader spot inside the colony now.

Oh hey one of these guys was the leader. It'd be neat if there was like, more impact to having the leader around and killing them.

I deconstructed the earlier spaceport stuff and moved it into the second bong's pipe. Annoyingly you cannot rotate the landing pad. Right now we just have a random visitor showing up, I change the access control to allow guests only. Traders could also show up in the shuttle.

You can also refine chemfuel into space grade fuel, but I wont be doing that for this colony. You would build refiners in the water, or you could do it on land for a penalty to production. Then people will land and buy some fuel.

And after 3-4 days we get a single psicoin from Colnoca. I'm gonna need to think of our food situation before I increase psicoin mining. Why don't we take our nonfungible token and proceeds from foxgirl bathwater and see what bionics we can get?

The coin was worth 390 silver, which helped buy this :sickos:

Bios and Lynneth are the only ones in an actual relationship, and Lynneth doesn't have a bionic while bios does.... Also bios has that harmonizer, so by them getting more fun in the sheets the entire colony as a whole will benefit

.... Man Rimworld is a weird rear end game.

I've set up a tailor bench for anyone to use to make cowboy hats out of any textile besides cotton, mercury weave, hyperweave and synthread (What future world doesn't have partiers who wear future synthetic threads?) and I've just been shooting drop pods of the stuff around. I guess it would also make sense that a group of party hardies can have a bunch of people willing to fight for them. Not only that but guests will carry more cash when they visit if we have higher relations with their faction.

Oh for gently caress's sakes you guys, really? A loving hat kept the door open?

They took a bunch of poo poo, including every single solitary mortar shell I had and hosed off. But not before burning poo poo just to be assholes. I'm removing that loving door.

In other news I bought a breeding pair of ducks. Quack. I believe I'll need eggs for desserts.

Got our second coin from Colnoca and it turns out using a human brain for mining starts damaging their brain. Setting them to light mine gives a coin every... 15 days. I wonder what happens if I yank that miner out of his head, if I can just rotate through prisoners. After all, Igor loves sending me them.

Have I mentioned my rework of the stem? I threw a wall in the center just so pawns weren't standing at the very edge taking shots. Now they gotta get nice and close. I've also put up some trenches, which will give better cover to our pawns in exchange from reduced firing distance. But with that wall right there the enemy has to get close anyways.

Especially when the raid consists of those useless assholes in literally every online FPS ever who picks sniper and sits in the back.

When raids show up the shuttles will evacuate... meaning your guests leave as soon as raids show up.

Which means this happens. Which also damages relations. Meaning if a shuttle shows up with guests and right after a raid shows up and forces them to leave, I get lovely scores.

.....

...................

gently caress off Igor. A raid every 2 or 3 days my rear end. Actually there is something else that makes Igor the antithesis of this playthrough:

He sets your natural goodwill to -100, ensuring that everyone will eventually hate you for no drat reason. This will undo any gift giving I do and will make guests have less money when they visit. Holy poo poo Igor was NOT a good choice to run with.

Welcome back Randy :unsmith:

Doing some work on this little power area over here and here is something I generally don't build: Solar panels. Obviously they only work during the day and don't work when the sun is blocked for one reason or another. These are advanced solar generators, from the vanilla power expanded mod, and they produce 3k power each at peak sunlight. I got this cause the biggest drain on my power right now are the sunlights in the greenhouse. Those are taking up a combined 4125 watts when they're on.

Oh I bet they did :pervert:

To celebrate our newfound peace, time to finally toke up with a smoking circle! Even the droids get involved. And somehow they get the "stoned on smokeleaf" effect.

The smoke from our circle was so strong it reached spaced and caused a collision, making a chunk of a ship land nearby. And this is a grey one that also gives silver. So yes, we make money getting high.

That pirate showed up and they had some pretty high tech stuff, including one of these. There is also another laser sword and a plasma sword, which go to NGDBSS and JackSplater. Now for this persona weapon though, the droids wont benefit from it. Drakenel does have the tough trait and already holding a chain shotty... may as well give them this so they'll have a melee weapon as they'll be closer to the enemy. The psychic suppression is whatever, but giving them a mood bonus when they kill a raider for a few days aint bad.

I'm working on the automation stuff. There is the smart recycler on the left, the auto mason in the middle and on the right is an autocook. Why have that when I keep talking about handcrafted meals? Because I can use it to make nutrient paste without having to deal with the dispenser. Insect meat and I'll have some rice growing on the side to keep a stack of paste around. Guess what the psicoin miners will be eating?

Bunch of crystalmints showed up and look at all that happiness from killing them! Sadly you do not get crab meat out of these, just a slapdash of blocks.

Everyone has been getting ansty about getting our ideological symbol and carving so I set them up in the center hallway. I WOULD have them outside but there are some issues: I cannot have any workshops in the same room and the entire area needs to be floored. I wont be doing that out there so here we are. I always can just build a second symbol out there.

Since I can't have a workshop in the altar room I had to readjust the research room. I should probably throw sterile tile in there, get some of my cotton back for the research buff.

Wow way to hush the buzz.

Expanding our content creation by breaking into RimTify. Ad servers from this will generate steel, which is something I desperately need. I'm constantly having a steel shortage.

I should be mad that Randy did this when summer is about to end and whatever I replant may not grow in time for the harvest. I need an assload of cotton :saddumb:

But I'm not. Cause I could've fought like 10 raids in the time I switched story tellers.

:stare: That middle options. I want it The trait on this one makes the wielder utterly immune to pain.

Whats cool with the landing pad is that the Empire shuttles will land there. Now these are proper prisoners, which means you need a prisoner bed to hold them in. For now I use the server room as a prisoner room.

Eagerly waiting for that raid... they carry steel.

Speaking of prisoners, looks like Colnoca is about done. Hopefully he can get out one more coin before I yank that miner out of his head.

Or not. Dammit, there goes that miner implant

I decided to experiment with explosives. Veloxyll hits the big red button and...

Thats... thats it? Seriously? I thought it was weird that there wasn't an AOE marker shown when I placed it, but I didn't realize that meant it had like no explosion radius.

Of course the two outsiders are the ones who develop a relationship.

I got the outdoor dining set up, with a window looking out into the ocean. If you're wondering whats with the tables, the top one is a techist style. I'll need to get bios to change the style of the bottom table. In the sand I have some coconut trees growing, which can only grow in a sand grow zone and get a buff to grow time for being near the sea.

Got the rest of the bong filled out with that mysterious black flooring. So what is it?

Yeah that is weird, warlocks are also slightly different in their abilities and I'm not sure if they can get a certain ability that succubi get in regards to their partners.

Also this happened shortly after the video, I have never seen this before and I am just.. surprised this is doable.

Huh, didn't realize you get a mood bonus for killing an enemy leader. Neat.

Swiped up 2 raiders to be our new psicoin miners and dear god whats wrong with your faaaaaaace.

Now that I'm not getting raided every 12 hours its time to finally send some of the droids out to these complexes. I get bios, Jack and Dervin out to take a peek at the one right next to the colony.

Oh man I wish I embarked here instead. The river leading into the sea, I could've made a water bong colony.

Well thats concerning. Lynneth is gonna be out of commission for a bit. Shame that the pawn with the ability to cure OD has OD'd herself.

Back at the compound, well gently caress opening this crate only provided a psychic soothe pulser in exchange for turning on an explosive trap AND causing an infestation.

Opening this one popped out a hostile and A COUGAR AND A PANTHER! This was for a masterwork vest and the guy had some gold on him.

The last crate though :getin:

Look at that accuracy Its trait though is really not great, it requires a kill every 20 days or it gives a mood debuff. But there is no bonus for making the kill. I was gonna debate on who to give this too, but I had bios hold it while leaving. Then an insect got close which made them switch weapons to it, which bonded them. So grats bios!

Now the gun does EMP damage, so it really wont hurt organics... but it WILL set them on fire.

With the discos we can now have, these ritual parties seem rather quaint by comparison.

Yep, sounds like a bunch of dance parties I've gone to.

Raiders are showing up with rockets. Cricket and Brownie here just got a facefull of like 8 rockets.

You know, with these colonists getting OD and addicted, why the gently caress don't ya'll stay awake that long?

Oh hey these guys, forgot all about them. Have fun doing whatever it is prisoners of the Empire deal with. Now who to give the persona SMG to... If Drakenel didn't already have a laser sword that would've been an easy choice. Looking it over I see that Lela gets all those buffs to movement thanks to the succubus thing, which means she'll be able to navigate better with a short range weapon.

Don't think I've mentioned this, but with this laser pistol as well as Drakenel's laser sword and bios's tesla coil, they get +3 mood for having a high tech weapon.

And the good times just keep rollin'. I blame Igor for the complete lack of events that aren't just raid raid raid raid raid.

Dumping more mass produced crap. I read a loading screen tip that says higher relations also increases the chances of getting traders, so that'll be nice.

Oh this thing again. And this time we have a colony who will appreciate the crab meat. Get the butter

Speaking of food, I reworked the greenhouse. Each sunlamp will have 4 different crops growing in them. A perk to only 5 colonists: I don't need to bring in a whole lot of food.

Hey, wanna see something funny? - A dumbass stoner, most likely.

Well a bunch of steel slag came flying into the map which, thanks. No seriously! Send me more steel from space!

Oh... well thats kinda annoying. I guess its time to shut them all down for now until I get a stockpile of more mechanoid parts. I could use all that steel to make more wardroids.

Looks like we got a deposit already!

I don't want to deal with this though.

I ask for help and you send me a naked man? Someone with a bow and another with a pila? And one guy with no clothing OR weapons?!

I do admit, the one with the bow has some massive balls to just bumrush the cluster alone.

Let's get this party started I guess.

Yeah that went about as well as expected. Whats great is that I lost another 20 goodwill cause of crossfire hit a friendly.

Welcome Someone Awful, with this kickin' rad promotion shot next to the skip. Really should step up to the albatross.

gently caress off

Why.

I should show off the area they're standing around in. Lynneth is standing in front of a cash register, used to take orders for the gastronomy mod. I'll need some customers who are actually awake to make use of this. Why do you go to a club if you sleep at 9 pm? Besides selling food, it can also sell drugs from the register.

Above the register is a bar, where different cocktails can be made. Cocktails have the usual simple>fine>lavish>gourmet tiers. They require an alcohol of some kind along with certain food items, like juice, other drinks and even milk. Fruit juice can be made with berries, canned fruit or certain other fruits. This is explicitly fruit items from vanilla plants expanded, vegetable garden fruits don't count. You can also make various mashes and worts to make alcohol with here.

And in regards to milk, vanilla plants adds this. We can turn rice, almonds, coconuts, oats or soybeans into milk. You lose nutrition, but it lets you get milk for recipes that need it. Say our desserts.

I forgot to properly designate a table for dining, which gives the tables decorations that you can cycle through. Also I put down a purple lava lamp nearby so people will stop complaining about the dark. It fits the style anyways!

A successful dance party finally brought in a venerated animal and look at it. Its so loving ugly, I love it.

bios has some animal training, so let's finally get a venerated animal so I can show that off!

And success on the first go. Who knew owl cats would like soymilk?

I put down a cloth animal bed for the catowl and even made some special food for it from a mod. Its called "taitanian food" and I have no idea what it means. But its better than kibble, surely.

Oh neat, it literally has 9 lives.

Hey now, an opportunity to improve relations.

There are 4 options here, with two of them getting bigger relation boosts with whoever we pick. However this group is all about peace, make love, not war.

We got some relations with both groups, with a rather sizeable boost to the hostile faction. Time to throw a drop pod of stuff at them to get them friendly.

More friends :buddy:

Finally got some work at the restaurant, made 35 silver today. Cause people ordered simple meals and paste :barf: I disabled those options. Speaking of guests and money, I start charging 10 silver for our beds, with some floor beds for those without money. You pay for comfort in this colony!

Got a few things showing off here, lets start with the obvious: Remember that time some raiders brought a gold mortar to blow us up? Well, gold dore. I used that to make an autobong, it constantly spews out smokeleaf and gets anyone who is near it high. Whats great is that 25 bundles of smokeleaf will last 15 days, so at this point I don't really need to keep making joints, just need to keep leaves around to keep the bong filled.

In the fridge you might make out 2 new buildings, the one near the plant milk extractor is an espresso machine. We can make different types of coffee here. Espresso just needs coffee beans, throwing it into the fridge will turn it into iced coffees. Then we can further make coffees with these two by adding other ingredients, for example taking mint and either espresso or iced coffee will make a mint coffee, whisky for irish coffee, etc.

Next the casket up top is a gin still, I can make gin mash with berries that can be fermented here. The room will need to be between 42-68F. I'm gonna be phasing out beer, thats so passe. Its all about that gin n' juice.

Watter's was about to die so I removed the psicoin miner... and it didn't give me back the miner  I sell Watters after this. Considering a miner requires advance components, its kinda lovely that I can't get it back. Whats funny is about selling Watters is that Lela keeps their bond to them, with all the bonuses that gives.

Oh and as to why they're in the server room, our colonists actually get a mood debuff sharing a room with a slave (that they are not in relations with) so I threw them in here. I mean, technically they are just computers.

Deer Santa: i'd like my psicoin miner back - Leal, age 30

... Yeah, why don't I get rid of like all but 3 of my colonists for half a loving year.

Meet the autocrane, which is part of the mechanoids expanded stuff, not the project rimfactory stuff. It requires a few parts dropped not just by mechs but also their buildings, the cluster had a piece and I had to buy another. What this does is build any blueprints nearby, but it requires pawns to drop off all the materials at the blueprint. You can freely move it around and it just needs 200w of power, though when it starts building it'll shoot up to 3k! Right now its just building some flooring in that little storage area next to it, but I got some plans for it when I GET MORE STEEL :byodood:

Who knew the only time the people of Ereuay would get inside the bong was through a visit. From now on whenever guests leave I'll have someone head over to the communication console and ring up more people to visit.

Wow that is rude as poo poo. Everyone packs up and heads out. A toxic fallout that will never end unless you head out to take it out.

Alright, square up!

gently caress YES! I timed hold 'em just right to capture a rocket midflight, damaging a bunch of the raiders and setting their poo poo on fire.

The enemy deploys a shield so I rush everyone into it. Its MY cover now!

Blow that poo poo up. It drops some mechanoids components too, the ones used to make the factory buildings. I swipe all their metal poo poo before heading out, armors, weapons, all that. I need steel.

Lela and Drakenel are tying the knot. Dunno why Lela is all the way over here drinking a mint coffee. But who am I to question foxgirl marriage customs? I did try placing a marriage spot along the beach but it was too late :negative:

A science expo happened so I sent Heretic on over and oh thats nice, a souped up infinite chemfuel generator. In exchange for 300w to power it, it'll provide 75 chemfuel every 10 days This can keep our ships fueled and I can always throw the excess at other factions for friendship points.

So hey remember how I needed 15 construction skill to build advanced servers? Well the autocrane can build anything, as long as someone else delivers all the materials to the blueprint. An advance RimTify server will provide 180 steel every 15 days. A basic server does 30 and an intermediate does 80. Once I start getting the steel and advance components coming I'll be swapping all the servers to advance ones.

Also I like how the servers look as you get to more advance tiers.

I believe this quest is part of the mechanoids expanded, so this is a good chance to show it off. I accept it for the mech serum reward, always nice to have one around just in case.

Speaking of quests, since Randy is being pretty chill I decided to head everyone out to do some complex diving. A few crates had some gold and hypwerweave. This room has a fuel node that is gonna explode soon, plus those pods are right there. So I'm gonna have Someone Awful, NGDBSS and Jack shoot a hole in the wall so we can quickly escape after opening the security crate.

Dear god WHAT

This thing cannot be left to live.

This is what was in the crate, neat. A way to get our fridge cold without relying on power!

Dammit, there goes all my psicoins. And the miners. Whats hosed up is he died when I switched the miner to light...

Send me a raid Randy, I need more psicoins, they can only go up!

I get the magic cooler set down in the fridge, now I can remove the air conditioners and recover some of that precious steel.

Drakenel looking snazzy in their hyperweave suit jacket. It gives a bonus to trade price and social impact and has decent defense as well (well, as long as it isn't blunt). When I start getting hyper or mercury weave I'll start making some clothes, fashionable clothes of course. Hopefully with better materials everyone wont be so hosed up after each fight.

And yeah at this point I built a look change station so they could dye their clothes, but some pawns may have automatically changed their hair as well.

I set down some marble slabs along the landing zone and prettied up the entrance with some more coconut trees. Give a good first impression for the guests.

Drakenel gets some improvements and I notice this scar they have. Even though it says "destroyed by a mana explosions" they... still have their right leg.

Got a raid that consists of like 75% grenadiers Makes the attraction spell work great in keeping a chunk of them in place while bios uses their ice machine thing.

Until the loving TRANQ GRENADES COME OUT. Literally everyone except Jack and NGDBSS are up. Thankfully they manage to KO enough of their own people that they flee. What isn't good is that some real grenades got mixed into that and hosed up Heretic, including a scar in the brain.

Seriously, guy who made this tranquilizer mod: What the gently caress?

Lets take on someone who doesn't have tranq grenades up the rear end. Shame there isn't a way to do this peacefully. I am currently going for the Revelling Pulser relic, I already did a complex off screen. After hacking and killing everyone, I jack their steel urns.

You come to the oasis and all you order is 3 servings of pineapple?

This rules and is going to be a centerpiece in the dining area. For some reason this is titled "Bliss with NGDBSS".

And since I've been only putting up great pieces of art the whole colony gets a +7 for having excellent art on average. That dessert need though... Its kinda absurd. Eating a fine dessert will give a pawn 15% in the dessert need, within an hour they'll lose 3% I'd have to remove all other food from the colony, only have desserts and probably have to manually tell them to eat chocolate as well. Oh well, who needs desserts when you got fine seafood dishes, iced lattes and of course, gin n juice?

I'm gonna say it was actively unfun. It was advertised as a raid every 2 or 3 days but that was completely untrue, I didn't mention a lot of fights which is why sometimes a colonist would suddenly be hosed up between screenshots. I'd finish a raid and promptly get smacked with a 12 hour warning. I never felt so stressed playing before.

I think killing a bunch of raiders is worth a giant tv.

Couldn't you crash any closer

What... what the gently caress? This raid consists of 3 scythers, a prowler, a bumbledrone queen, a termite, a blood shrimp, a lancer, a daggersnout and a chemfuel myrmidon. Why is this collection of bugs and mechs chasing people?

For some reason the guy with a minigun decided he was just gonna charge ahead and run face first into the mechs instead of running for cover. Whatever, he soaked up enough damage. The shuttle and some of that slag that fell with it, with the mechs as well, free steel.

I really want steel. I end up failing that one quest for the radar station, it was simply too far to walk and the skip can barely hold one single war droid. An albatross will let me fly them around.

I gladly accept your deposit of steel, Randy! Just 2 ticks, a lancer, a hoplite and a demolisher, plus whatever is in the capsule. One of the turrets is completley blocked and it'll be trivial to get around to its blindspot, the other is an inferno turret. But here is the thing: With droids they don't worry about being caught on fire. There isn't even a drop pod beacon either, this is gonna be a slaughter.

And especially with bios and their tesla gun keeping the mechs stunned? Cakewalk. Don't worry about Dervin, robots are fireproof.

.....

..............

Let's leave this on the floor for now....

Behold! The steel extractor! This is from the mechanoids expanded mod, and is part of its industrial stuff. With this we can throw stone chunks into some hoppers in the back and after some time it'll spit out some steel, looks like 10 steel per chunk. Something to note with these industrial buildings, we need to build them on factory flooring, which costs more steel. This cost... a lot of steel to start up. But there is plenty of chunks laying around that I can turn into steel, and you can always mine more.

Speaking of mining, why aren't I using rimfactory mining stuff? Cause I would have no reason to build this!

N-

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKK

Putting aside that disaster, we can see the big TV on the left pointing towards the diners. And on the right I had Godna grow a lawn in the dirt. The anima grass can still grow on it, though that plan to have that entire section be grass isn't gonna play out. Anima grass eventually expires and only tribals meditating at it will grow it, and that is dependent on how many tribals visit.

Oh dear, getting quite a few ducks here. If I click on that knife on the bottom left...

I can set up an auto slaughter setting. I'll set it for 2 adult males and females. Though maybe just 1 male and 3 females would be better... whatever.

Speaking of mating, another thing that succubi get is that they get a boost when they get some lovin'. Their partner however gets drained, which gives them a 20% penalty to moving and manipulation, but they also get -50% to pain.

Godna gets the second advance geothermal generator up. 2 of these, 2 advance solar generators and a tidal generator is finally getting me enough power to keep going, while generating extra for the droids to recharge.

I get 2 quests, firstly this one. Just 12 animals? Child's play. I accept it for the luciferium and that belt.

I also accept this, for the goodwill. The other rewards was honor and eltex clothing. The royals don't party like we party.

Oh neat, one of the troops sent to help is a warden class. They're a hybrid class who on the might side has:

Rock Fist will punch an enemy and stunf them.

Grasping Earth will yank an enemy towards them and stun the target.

Earthen Rush will have the warden dash to a spot and then throw up a ring of stone. If it targets an enemy directly the warden will crash into them, if they land near an enemy the ring of rock will damage and stun the enemy

Armor of Earth will greatly slow down the warden but give them a lot of defense

Magnetic Shield will throw a shield up that absorbs projectiles but lets projectiles fire outward

On the magic side there is:

Stone Sheath which puts a shield around the warden.

Magnetic Wave will blast pawns near themselves outward

Pile Driver will fire stones anywhere on the map.

Stoneskin will give a pawn several charges of stoneskin, which will completely absorb any attack for each charge. These last 2 abilities need to be learned by spending 2 points. Don't think I'll be able to grind him out :v:

Yeah this aint that bad of a mech cluster. But how about we hold off for a bit before attacking.

Let's dance with our new friends instead!

YOU STUPID ROBOT

:argh:

I've been building these little towers around the desert, the wooden flooring is a platform that increases the shooting distance of whoever stands on it at a cost of being more exposed to fire. But it seems being next to cover still protects them, so some embrasures for protection and a platform to let our long range pawns take potshots at enemies wandering the desert. I've also had Godna clear out some hills, just to increase our firing lines.

And look what shows up right after taking out that cluster. My plan was to have them fight one another. So much for that! I managed to get everyone back into the kill stem and took care of this. Now for our reward....

The belt has 5 charges and will put up a mineable tile of jade. It gets reloaded with gold. We are getting a good amount of gold from the ad servers, which I can then exchange for some extra jade. Godna mines out 41 jade. I used all 5 charges, went to reload at the 94 gold... just to be told there is "too few". I'm concerned how much gold is needed to replenish this. Got a bunch of jade though!

And for the other part of the reward... Heretic has been really hosed over with that scar in the brain. Walking through the smokeleaf smoke she shoots down to 30% movement. I cannot find any more orbs of the eternal and I'm not getting any healer mechites as quest rewards. So how about we take care of that the high life way? So lets talk about Luci, it reduces pain by 20%, increases consciousness by 10%, moving by 5%, sight by 15%, blood filtration by 70%, blood pumping by 15%, metabolism by 20% and breathing by 10%. On top of all of this every quadrum or 2 it will heal up one scar or different ailments like asthma, cataracts and so on.

The downside is that you need to pop a pill every 6 days (technically 6.66 days) or you go through withdraw that causes berserk and death. I currently got 14 pills, so I got almost a year and a half worth of pills. Just gotta keep an eye out for restocks.

:sickos:

Yes, we have a loving tank now.

And I should start putting that jade and gold to use. Jewelry for everyone!

When you get pawns with scars, and have the more factions interaction mod, you may get this pop up from time to time. I go ahead and accept it, bios still has that one scar in their head from getting the psychic harmonizer installed so long ago.

:thunk: Well the scar is gone so I guess its all fine.

Ugh alright, I've been holding off on this for a while. May as well rip this bandage off. Maybe this will get me enough steel to build the albatross.

Yeah.. it would land out there. I guess it is in range of a platform. I get Godna to build some walls so anyone who wants to go for the drone will need to be exposed to the platform. Bios heads over to hack and I get the remaining 3 wardroids to be on standby.

Of course they arrived in that direction. Why wouldn't they?

Is it a loving requirement that every tribal raid has at least one jackass with this spell?

Bios finishes the hack before another raid shows up. Wake up is a hell of a drug.

After that some peace talks popped up with a faction and I sent bios on over to handle it. A pile of statues and hats sent via drop pod will make us the best of friends.

MORE.STEEL.MORE.STEEL.

And this time I got my own long range siege equipment!

After clearing that out, look at these. Free 400W of power, and there is 3 of them. Sure they'll explode if damaged... so I should just make sure that doesn't happen! Also put them far away from everything else

Dunananananananananananananananananananana

BAH DAH DAH DAH DAAAAAAA

And hey some raiders showed up

:getin:

And whats great, the brambles I placed down can catch on fire.

And now with an albatross, I can finally fly the wardroids around.

For example, getting the last complex finished and finally getting our relic.

Why did opening that crate also activate the pods in the other room? More importantly, why does one of them have a god drat rocket launcher? Thankfully they had to open the door and while that happened I got Dervin to stand on the other side to melee them and keep them from firing it.

Half the group split off to go attack the albatross. And one of them had both a lasersword AND a monosword. Kaching!

Oh no, a transport crashed and it has a kitty in it :( I get Veloxyll out there to try and patch it up.

New pet for the colony!

Time to disco to welcome both our new pet AND the new ride!

Showing off the dining area with the coconut trees in various stages of growth. I'm really liking how this is looking. Also Lynneth here is mixing up a proper cocktail, I grew some potatoes and put up a vodka drum to make some vodka, then there is some gin, juice and a condiment, in this case a mint leaf as its what I have on hand, and a gourmet cocktail is made!

And my dude, have you tried cocktails?

So for 120 hours Drakenel here will have an increased chance to get an inspiration. Then they get a bonus from the drinks used, +20 social impact from the Gin and +20 dodge chance from the vodka. The mint provides and additional 10 social impact. Oh and since its considered a drug, I can go into the drug setting and tell them to carry a cocktail.

Now in the screenshot with Lynneth you may have noticed that there is some gin mush at the bar, instead of in the fridge. The fridge is a mess, its time to clean things up and start planning all my meals, instead of a hodge podge of "gently caress it, grow whatever, cook whatever."

I swapped out the vodka drum for a sizeable whisky keg. Whiskey provides a bonus to shooting, so that'll pair off better with the partiers who should ideally not be getting in melee range. And instead of mint for the condiment, how about some go juice :getin: Rollin' down the street, smoking smokeleaf, sipping on gin n go-juice

A few more benches have been placed in the kitchen. I've shown off the sushi table and the condiment table, but top left is an ice cream maker. With some milk, sugar and a specific ingredient we can make all kinds of ice cream. A lot of them require a tree plant and since I can't put those in a greenhouse and a tree can't even grow enough in our short grow time, for now I'll just be making the best part of a neapolitan ice cream. Thats right, strawberry. loving fight me. I can make actual neapolitan, but why waste the time when I can make the best part of it?

I've replanted the greenhouse so each crop will only be used in 1 or 2 things, instead of just whatever. This will make it easier to eyeball what I should be growing more or less of as well. Ignore the coconut trees here, once they are harvested I'm gonna remove that grow zone. Also I placed some (turned off) turrets in there so sappers would stop killing the crops in winter breaking the wall. Anyways here are the meal changes and the crops I'll be using on them:

A gourmet bake with whatever meat we have on hand, bell peppers and spices. When bell peppers are harvested they can be either red or yellow, with different nutrition. As I need flour for both this and whiskey mssh I'm not only growing spelt but also oats. Oats provide both oats and flour, the oats will be used for duck feed and nutrient paste fodder.

Fine desserts will be a mix of milk, chocolate and pineapples. The pineapples will also be used for making the juice for the cocktails.

I'll be rotating out coffee and tea crops, the former will be using mint to make mint coffees an the latter I have some lemon trees growing out in the section of the greenhouse that I plowed but removed the walls on. This will make lemon tea.

I got a crop of sugarcane growing for the ice cream, as well as berries both for the ice cream and for gin mash.

Finally the sushi table will be making some futomaki with rice, fish and cabbage. Our guests often fish and when there is absolutely nothing else sometimes bios fishes.

And I went ahead and built one of these in the outdoor area. This will allow fishing anywhere, but needs to be filled up with water from our water pumps. But once its full I can place a fishing zone over it. What kind of club doesn't have one of those big fish tanks where you can pick out your own lobster?

Now that I don't need to hoard steel I can finally rebuild Someone Awful MKII. The name is too long so I left out the MKII. This model is going to be a melee bot because I need more melee. Really, coming from the last colony I really underestimated just how useful melee is. Being able to run up to someone shooting and making them stop shooting is so drat useful.

Alright so here is a problem, because Heretic's class' gimmick is that they have 0 of their bars unless they draw a specific card, it makes the mana drain, which is happening now, a god drat slow death. Even drawing a blue card which unlocks their mana bar does nothing cause it still starts at 0, and I need some mana

So I sent her and some robots in a random spot in the mountain until she recovered and the mana drain went away. I have Godna dig around to try and find some steel.

Oh hey, someone wants to marry one of our slaves miners. Well they only have 4 health left so its only a matter of time before they die... may as well get that easy alliance!

I'm sorry, is this supposed to be a threat? Do you take me for a fool, mechs? Lets look at what is going to happen now that there is a permanent thunderstorm:

Everyone outside will move slower. This will mean raiders for the most part
Accuracy goes down. I'll just roof my firing line and leave the kill stem open.
Lightning strikes can cause fires... but the rain will put them out instantly. More importantly: Jackasses with flame weapons will be useless
Wind turbines will operate at peak efficiency, sometimes even generating more than what they should generate.
The lightning strikes at night can generate enough light to get a solar generator to produce a quick burst of energy.

And with rimforge, I can build lightning rods, not only do they protect an area from being stricken, but also generates a burst of power. Normally I wouldn't bother, since that relies on it thundering and that isn't a guarantee. But now its a constant!

Finally: C'mon. Going to a bong colony in the desert with constant storming loving rules. Who knew that one planet from the abandoned Stellaris LP with the constant thunderstorms would make its way here?

Drakenel is making some fine jewelry for everyone to wear. Jade necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings for everyone. Sadly quality of the jewelry doesn't increase its bonus to beauty, social effect and trade prices.

Since I don't need anything built at the colony I keep Godna over at that camp, I shipped a battery over so they can recharge as they strip mine it for any steel and magicyte. I still need to make Drakenel a class after all, I need to make a gem of insight. Then I can make some scrolls.

Since KingDoom can research 24 hours a day I removed the second hi tech research bench and threw down an advance server in its place. This will generate 300 silver every 15 days for a whopping 1k power. It also provides +5% research speed so thats nice. There is a lower tech version that I've skipped over.

Overview of how the entire colony looks. In the ocean I built a deep water bridge so I can build a tidal generator out of reach of raiders.

Drakenel apparently wants to get high enough to shake Jimmy Hendrix's hand. When just smoking a joint isn't enough and you need to be near an autobong.

Now that I can fly anywhere and drop off a mining drone, I replace the steel factory with an aqua basin. This will ensure a steady supply of fish, in exchange for some vegetables. For 20 produce we will get 5 lobsters every 2 hours. Thats right, lobster. Only the fanciest sushi rolls in this colony!

Christmas party in the field in the middle of a thunderstorm. Its fine, there is a lightning rod nearby.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to find that clip from.. one of the Scary Movies where they parody Jason and its the two ladies saying "Hey want to drink some beer and smoke a joint?" Pretend I took that clip but imposed 2 of the colonist's face over the chicks. Maybe a mechanoid over Jason.

Doesn't Jason X have a scene of him coming across two teenagers in a sleeping bag going "We're going to have sex" and then it cuts to him killing them. Only for it to be some kind of VR prison for him.

Oh that is an actual scene in Jason X. Says a lot that I thought it was a scene in one of the parody movies :v:

Delirious Party Life 7

drat Heretic, where did you get those shoes?! Chinchilla fur is the third most expensive fur, under thrumbofur and gallatross. Everyone is gonna get a pair of shoes with the fur, no free advertising though so no reeboks with the straps. My goal now is to use our patreon dollars to buy luxurious clothing for our colonists in a show of excess, just like influencers irl!

Also by having the colonists wear expensive clothing it increases the colony wealth. Thats my other goal: time to start increasing the colony wealth so we may sell this colony. I need 350k, I'm at 298k.

Yay a new couple. And a pick up line that actually makes sense in this colony.

A despoiler ship touched down on the other side of the map so hey, no rush. Though it is locking down the airspace so no guests will show up. Gotta take care of that sooner rather than later.

Our colonist's weapons also contribute, and its best I get everyone top gear now while we got a colony going before moving onto the next one. Lynneth gets a persona charge rifle, which has the painless trait and calm thoughts. Actually this is a double on her mood, both the calm thoughts AND holding a hi-tech weapon increases her mood. I should get a psychic harmonizer installed on Lynneth. She does need a bionic part anyways.

A lightning bolt hit the mechs and woke them up, may as well go clear them out. I send Dali out

Hot drat, Dali is not only a good shot but the explosion damaged everything in that circle. The group in the screenshot two images up? Forget it, I send them all back home and instead just keep setting Dali to destroy and recharge mode to keep them from getting too close (they keep walking towards the enemy during their cooldown) and just constantly pelt the group with a tank shell. Since the mechs wont move away from their ship to respond its like shooting fish in a barrel.

I need to keep an eye out for more siegebreakers :sickos:

Just to show how far Dali can take shots, they're the white dot on the left.

Oh god what. Mass slaughter across the board! And yeah, even though I'm only keeping 2 breeding pairs of ducks, thats a lot of ducks. Each adult ducks are 40 meat, imagine if there was no illness and I could let all these ducklings grow. I don't really need to send the droids hunting the very few animals that are roaming the desert.

So Dali, while potent, doesn't have a lot of energy in their battery so I'm taking everyone to take care of things. The magic class expanded mod added this for the demonkin class, which throws several shadowbolts at targets in a large area. I also got mana shield for Lela, which will protect her from damage until she runs out of mana.

Then I let them come in one at a time and focus fire them down.

And look at what managed to get knocked down?

First a tank, now we got a mecha :getin:

Some... interesting television in the Rim.

ALL SHALL FEAR Razz

I built an advance wind turbine and holy loving poo poo. Power problems? In MY colony?

Never.

Best gamer huh? I'm.. not actually sure what skills this needs but I send heretic on over in the albatross. Gotta take it out on a drive every now and then or else it'll start to break down ya know.

Ah, looks like Heretic's luciferium high drove them to causing a classic gamer moment.

So Drakenel now looks different. At first I thought it was the earrings I gave them but no, the Hisa mod updated again to add this as a possible ear choice. I'll stick with it, it'll be like symmetry with Lela having ribbons and these two being the only ones with ear accessories.

Alright so maybe now I can show off this quest. I get everyone loaded up into the Albatross for this. Well, mostly everyone. The Albatross can only carry so many people.

Yes, even the mechs come along.

Whoa Dali, check the friendly fire!

Inside the building are a few things, a multi-analyzer, a long range mineral scanner, a comms console and there are 3 super computers in here. Now the super computers will provide 1 research point every hour, but I feel they're both too spacious for that and they require 600 power. So this would be 1,800 W of power to get 3 research points every hour. I'm gonna scrap everything, sadly I cannot take the long range mineral scanner with me, that'd be great. Hell the building itself and the chairs are also made out of steel. Hrmm...

I have Someone Awful stay behind and send everyone else home, then bring the ship back with Godna who deconstructs everything made out of steel here. The super computers provide some plasteel, advance components and mechanoid components.

After Heretic's epic gamer moment I think its time to start making content on Rimtube. The ad servers from Rimtube provide plasteel, something I'm going to be needing a lot of soon.

bios made themselves a masterwork hoodie that they can now wear. Besides the stylish chinchilla shoes, everything else is made out of mercury ultraweave. They aren't wearing any middle or outer clothing that could add more protection but its fine, I have something in mind for that. Till then, they're clubbing in the finest of future synth weave.

I've gone ahead and built a meat grinder to automate butchering, not only will this let me remove the butcher table and hooks in the fridge to make more space for actual food, but yes I am butchering humans now. I can use their meat to make protein and nutrient mash which I can then make into neurotamine for turning our yayo into go juice. The colonists wont like it, but on the other hand they're high enough to see Lastation.

Only people who read the last LP would get that one.

... This is literally ALL of my colonists. To take out six pirates?

Now this on the other hand is worthwhile.

You know when I came up with this colony THIS is what I had planned, it was just the robots and mechs going out and fighting while the colonists stayed home and partied.

And even if they are getting several kinds of hosed up, they're far more easy to fix up than organics! After clearing the base out I bring mostly all the bots back, but make sure to have Godna stop on by to deconstruct any steel items.

And while the droids are out, everyone is back at home partying.

Though it isn't always great back at home. Yet another cluster, this one with a weather machine that makes the weather... foggy? You expect that to intimidate me? With the way the walls are set up, I could probably snipe out their weather machine out of the range of their turrets. Though they have a siegebreaker in there, which will constantly take shots at the colony once I wake them up.

And what better time to propose? Gotta say, proposing directly in front of your ex is a power move.

How can the colonists even tell that there is an eclipse going on?

The research room is absolutely crowded now with an aurora core and factory research bench. The hi tech research bench is getting 150% research speed for all of that however.

... Son of a bitch, the fog is overriding the thunderstorms.

Lela is the fastest colonist and has that mana shield that should protect her from enough shots before running out of range. So I get her to take a shot at an unstable power cell...

Large explosion if damaged my rear end, this was 2 triple bursts worth of shots :argh:

Whatever, it got them to leave their cluster and turrets. I'm gonna be using the ol "1 tile hallway leading to some melee pawns while everyone else stands in the back and shoots" strategy cause that killbox really isn't working out well.

I eventually have to run back after everyone gets hosed up thanks to one of the mechs which has something called a cryogensis gun which is a rapid fire AOE gun. Thats... cool. Not bullshit or anything for something to have 100% accuracy fire 5 shots in a row that damages everything in a 4 tiles radius.

And then you got this jackass who already destroyed a platform and is now gunning for the geothermal.

And it took so loving long to kill that it succeeded. But I go ahead and destroy the fog generator so the thunderstorms return and my uber wind turbine can continue. In fact I'm gonna leave this geothermal vent left alone and just build a second advanced wind turbine.

And Cugel's arm got shot off at some point. Don't know how, I usually keep them from getting close to the front line. Nothing a repair kit wont fix up.

I went and walled off the mechoid area plus put down a bunch of fertilized soil to grow a bunch of lemon trees. Lemon trees can randomly drop lemons around them, annoyingly though they are set to forbidden by default. Really I just wanted to get the wild animals to stop waltzing in and eating stuff, so thats why I walled it off. Getting a bunch of lemons though would be nice for random gifts.

So I can get more of these, ya know? Slowly but surely every non perma hostile is becoming an ally. And that means more money for clubbing at our house.

D'aw look at dat fukken kitty cat :3:

Also Heretic is hacking something new.

All shall fear... Ragu.... This is the mech with that bullshit rapid fire cryo gun. Now our enemies can fear it.... when we actually fight humans of course.

I got an assembler built up, which requires a database that is below it. The database can take on recipes from other benches, you need to place it near the bench and click on lean and wait for it to learn the recipe. Then you put it near an assembler and the assembler can use whatever recipe is on the database. So for this one its going to make cowboy hats out of every textile that isn't cloth, mercury hyperweave, regular hyperweave or synthread. It'll also make components, yayo, go juice, chemfuel, cigs, nutrient solution and protein mash from human and insect meat, then turn those into neutroamine.

Now the colonists don't have to worry about anything other than getting followers!

I went ahead and removed the butcher stuff and added more food baskets. I made sure the farther baskets have rice enabled while the ones closer to the kitchen don't, this is to make sure pawns wont grab extra rice when making sushi.

Besides butchering everything this grinder can also make animal food, so I set up 2 fridges near it. One holds human meat for taitanian, the other is gonna hold oats for "vegetable top" meal for the ducks. Keeping a fridge for each one means only 1 stack will be kept in there, so its not hogging up all the materials.

I love that I have nearly 100% quality for these dance parties and yet there hasn't been a single good one in a long rear end time.

An orgy is possible so I fire it off. Lynneth proceeded to walk into the room, disrobe, then turned around and started making cocktails in the buff. You do you.

Weirdly enough it counted Lynneth and also bios, who wasn't even in the room for some reason. I guess when you have an implant that makes everyone feel the same thing you do psychically physical contact isn't needed.

Greetings tribals, do not mind me, my flying ship nor my robots. We are all here to worship your computer. I finally get the location of the Revelling Pulsar.

Thats a... interesting rug. Thanks Drakenel.

Back to the Pulsar. I like how much the coast takes up this map, compared to how little sea is in the colony.

And we landed near a mechoid. More steel and components for me! I swipe the pulser and then have everyone bring the mechoid bodies to the albatross.

... So uh, don't take a ship off the map. Cause then it bugs out, weirdly enough the quest doesn't "complete" until you leave. It is still in Lynneth's pocket though....

Now there is a problem... I don't like how the reliquary looks in what is supposed to be a hi tech colony, cause it looks so low tech. It is strange that with the ideology style system there isn't one that changes the reliquary. I guess I'll just leave it on the floor in the middle of the barracks.

More friends :unsmith:

Mooore friends. Hats and whatever extra produce I have laying around have been getting shuttled to whoever I'm not currently allied with. Only 5 more factions that are not allied left. That'll leave us with 5 perma hostile factions.

Another bonus to getting buddy buddy is that it also makes prices better for us for trades.

Hello tribals, meet electronic death. This is what you get for refusing to be friends.

Ragu almost eats it but the base is cleared, giving a relation boost with most of the factions. All the bodies and equipment are loaded up into the albatross for refinement back at base.

We continue getting the finest of clothing for our colonists. I do make sure to have them dye the clothes to their favorite color.

Heretic and Lynneth tie the knot just in time for a mech cluster to crash on down!

That is certainly an interesting design. And yes, we have been getting attacked by mechs a lot lately. Its what happens when most human factions are not hostile to you.

This cluster has a droner building that will cause a medium drone... on males. Jokes on them! I mean, I'll take it down. Thats a bunch of free steel and mech parts after all.

40 grand? Are you loving high?

.... lmao

:jerky:

It just dawned on me that these are all tribals too.

This was less funny though. Seriously, gently caress these things.

And as soon as they arrived to the kill stem and the first one died they all turned around and booked it
