Information for those who have donated to me on Friday - I’m passing on 500 USD to Larissa, who will use the money to travel to Ukraine and bring it to her son and elderly family, along with supplies (mainly food). It’s possible this amount will grow - right now they’re buying supplies to fill a van and we’ll figure it out as we go along. I have also passed on 100 USD for a facility that’s sheltering animals from Ukraine and 50 USD on Igor the Ukrainian cat, who is being taken care of by a foundation in Rzeszów by the border whom I’ve sponsored before. People are talking about fast tracking an EU membership for Ukraine, but I have a few questions: Didn't Ukraine get denied membership already because their state and municipal governments are corrupt as hell? Like to the degree that even the EU has trouble looking past Also, Isn't the EU a financial cooperation? Even if Ukraine joined, that wouldn't mean military support. At best, sanctions and financial support.

They do have a mutual defense clause, which is probably why actual EU membership is a post-war thing (presuming there is still a Ukraine to grant EU status to).

The vast majority of funds have gone to Médecins Sans Frontières, the International Rescue Committee, or one of the many Red Cross societies around the world.
