They basically got a year off of making these games, right? I mean, not a vacation but they skipped a year so they could retool things? If that's the case, it's just so mind-boggling how many things they seem to have left just as bad as they've always been. Short of 2K going out of business and WWE having to find a new company to make their games, what could they possibly do to really improve these games at this point?

This is mostly based on things I heard but can't confirm years ago that WWE exercises a lot of oversight on game elements to the point that allegedly Vince (or the WWE liason with THQ/Yukes) wanted CAW removed entirely. For a slightly more serious answer I'd say completely scrap the engine and start anew even though that's not really feasible Also didn't the WWE 2k18 menu setup look kind of like the 2k22 one? I'm not sure what the complaint is about it.

I mentioned it a while back but one of the dumbest things about the move system in the WWE games is that they every move damages a specific body part, but sometimes it doesn't quite make sense why. Like you can have two powerbombs and one of them targets the head and one targets the back but the actual animation is virtually identical. On top of that, the character's movesets are always a complete mish-mash of moves targeting random limbs so there's no like, cohesive strategy to their moveset. You'd think it'd be logical that if your guy's finisher targets the Head they'd have a bunch of moves that do Head damage but nah! The animations themselves are just a weird hodge-podge of moves cobbled together over years and years. Like yeah, some of the moves are gonna look like poo poo cause they've been using the same motion capture data for them for over a decade at this point, and some are hosed up cause they can't account for different body sizes, some are hosed up cause they just didn't bother getting motion capture of a woman doing the move and just awkwardly slapped the data from a male performer doing it, etc etc. The thing this series needs more than anything else is to just start over from scratch. Throw out EVERYTHING. The yearly release schedule was already killing this franchise and it's looking more and more like even an extra 2/2.5 years isn't enough.

You have to get a second developer to work for like three years making a new WWE game from scratch, and then during the year that releases, Yuke's will have a second year to work on it again. Although that's too expensive if you're not Call of Duty. But if it's just being ruined by Vince like everything else WWE then even that won't help.

One of things that cracked me up about 2K19 was despite added the UK and NXT North American titles to the game, they didn't put those words in the announcer call name selections. Looks like they still haven't added it.
