you can appreciate the endless 8 and recognize that it's an amazing, hilarious flex by the studio that is highly unlikely to ever happen again in any other show, ever, a true display of artistic prowess and commitment to a vision, while still recognizing that it's a loving slog to sit through

if the person whose work is being edited is uncomfortable with it, then yes, the funny joke subs kind of suck. especially when the funny joke subs, are dwarfing the original work just being a fan thing someone made, cause they like mio honda from idolm@ster. thinking about how much people liked to meme on the english side putting funny words in masahiro sakurai's mouth over his nintendo direct appearances and when he found out he just thought it was, really weird and kind of uncomfortable
