Any recommendations for noise isolating earphones? I had good luck with Shures for years, using them on aircraft and in noisy environments. The foam sleeves really seal the world out, so I could listen to things at reasonable volume, rather than just dailing it up. But their increasing expense and fragility makes me reluctant to invest in another pair. Gotta be corded as well, for long flights.

Received my first combined order today - I barely ordered anything over the past year and rarely multiple items, so this was new for me. Bought some knock off Converse for a little under $9 - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003704174332.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.4a644c4dRArIjF Really impressed with the quality of these and the fit is great. If it wasn't for the Yuanbustar Fashion logo I'd have no idea these weren't real if I somehow bought them in a store. Stitching matches the originals, I usually immediately lock on to fake Converse because they'll add more stitching in attempt to avoid lawsuits I guess? Was honestly less concerned about the logos and more about the stitching, so these are great. Replacement N64 box inserts - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002420406666.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.4a644c4dRArIjF These are excellent, real bitch to fold though. Maybe there's some trick and I'm just an idiot. Had a handful of games missing the inserts and I was sick of the carts dropping out when I picked up the boxes. Phone case (I went with the ripndip cat wearing a mask and giving double birds) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003502016783.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.4a644c4dRArIjF Also shocked by the quality here, fits my phone extremely well and has a good texture. Feels solid but also not bulky. Granted, usually my phone case choice is just those lovely rubbery transparent ones you can get at walmart. One Punch Man OK. hat - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32909121701.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.4a644c4dRArIjF This is pretty clearly a cheaply made hat, the stitching is a tad bit messy but not anything anyone would notice in public or at normal standing/talking distance. It has one of those adjustable fabric sliders at the back and I had to slide it all the way out. I don't think I have a particularly large head, most hats fit without issue and I can't recall ever needing to slide something out all the way so if you have a large american head exercise caution.

They've worked out pretty good, but the build quality isn't the greatest. I've had a few Bludios over the years. The band usually fails and snaps eventually. Although it could be that I've just got a big head or something. Who knows?

theflyingexecutive posted:PayPal might ban their card or whole account though. They do not like chargebacks. Yeah, my advice was from an I-work-for-a-bank perspective. I’ve spoken to enough customers who have experienced consequences for raising a dispute on a genuine payment between us and PayPal. Where the money goes after that, isn’t our problem. Using a credit card via PayPal also breaks the chain for CCA s75, so it’s a bad idea. The only time it’s beneficial to use PayPal is instead of a direct bank transfer (BACS/FP), because you’ll gain protections, as CRM/APP doesn’t cover merchant disputes. Ed: I hear Ali loves chargebacks, too.

Delivered, result! It's decent quality all over, though not as heavy / warm as the blanket I swapped out for it, so I might keep this as a summer bed topper.

I got an Automatic Magnetic Stirring Mug. It has a magnetic stir bar in it like a chemist’s hot plate. It works well for me so far, but I can’t say anything about its reliability or even its battery life, except that it’s several minutes and long enough for my purposes. It is not insulated, if that’s something you’re looking for. Motor is powerful enough to do its job with the cup mostly full of water and powdered milk. I suppose that I should run the battery down just to see how long it lasts instead of plugging it in after I wash it. It has a thirty‐minute stirring mode, so I would hope that it lasts longer than that. Platystemon fucked around with this message at 16:13 on Mar 6, 2022 |

DRINK ME posted:Maybe 3-4 small soaps? Micro-batch soap. I can make three bars in this mold at a time. The cup is good for batches with up to about two hundred grams of oils. I’ve used as little as forty grams. I do this to test things like oil ratios and substitutions, or the presence or absence of an additive, without wasting a lot of ingredients. It really adds up when working with multiple variables. Most people seem to make their smallest batches no smaller than three to five hundred grams, limited by the practicalities of their immersion blender and not wanting to mix by hand for potentially hours. I have heard of some other solutions to making microbatches, including the use of milk frothers as tiny immersion blenders, putting the ingredients in a sealed jar and shaking, and the most interesting, sous vide. This is clever and I wish I’d come up with it. People also throw up their hands and say “I can’t measure such small quantities”, but getting and using a more precise scale is the easy bit. The scale I use is a 600g capacity/0.01 g precision model like this. The scale works well enough for my purposes. It’s not reliable to ten milligrams, but maybe thirty or fifty. I don’t care about absolute values as long as the ratios come out close, but I can say that it agrees with my coffee scale whenever I’ve compared them.
