I guess people can look at the code or something and determine this objectively but in my experience, random encounters always feel too high.

Especially in FFX's early game, around Mi'Ihen Highroad it feels like you get into an encounter every step.

Luckily this

Not just you, it is ridiculously high. A lot of areas are a pain in the rear end to traverse. Looking at you, Mi'hen Highroad, Thunder Plains and Mt. Gagazet.

The encounter rate on Mi’hen Highroad made me stop playing the game for two weeks when it first came out. It’s still a bit of a slog these days.

Killing Chaos's pals in meat castle would be pretty cool.

I'm a PC nerd so I'll do that. My sweet 3rd party switch/PC gamepad gonna do the work probably.

I'm going for PS4 because my PC is running out of SSD space and I cbf to set up an Epic account. My PC's stats are starting to get long in the tooth too so it'll probably be better performance.

Again a very likpatous story
Final Fantasy characters usually only kill one god, while the Demi-Fiend kills fifty gods in the space of ten minutes, and Demi-Fiend uses suffixes instead of numbers, so as far as I'm concerned that's proof that suffixes are more powerful than numbers.

I think to answer this, we need to know which single Final Fantasy game Jack actually played. There's no chance in hell that someone like him played more than one, and I think we can safely rule out that one being any of the less mainstream or overtly non-masculine ones (since you can't tell me he looked at IX and went 'hell yeah I'm in').

If that one game was 1, 4, 6, 7, or '14 but not for long' then numbers (unless he owned a Game Boy Advance, but that seems unlikely).

If that one game was 10, 12 because probably because of the US cover, 15, or the 7 remake, then suffixes.

If the answer is 'none', then suffixes due to knowledge of Kingdom Hearts. He will not admit to how he knows Kingdom Hearts, but he does know a weird amount about the first two when you trick him into talking about it.

Gods are a bad metric. You can kill them easily with a Saw.

Gonna be playing SoP on PS5, but there’s a very real chance I’ll still be playing Elden Ring when it comes out so will have to delay playing it… I mean I’m still hype about SoP and all but following up ER is certainly gonna be interesting

System requirements are usually overshot, even the minimum requirements. Because they don't test on literally every hardware combination possible, just what they have on hand, and the make an estimate based on that.

Evidence: my CPU, GPU, and RAM are all below the min specs for Elden Ring and I can run it just fine*.

They may also be aiming for a relatively smooth fps and/or at least some multitasking ability because someone might want to have say a web browser open while playing a game. Obviously not everyone's definition of "runs acceptably" is going to match up, and some people are going to be able to tolerate more jank than others will just to be able to play the game.

I'm hoping they do something with Rudra once Live A Live is out. They can't have just randomly decided on one game to get the Octopath treatment, right?

They said that they had a list of games they wanted to give that treatment, and Live A Live was on top of it. So they definitely have more.

And who thr gently caress knows what's in mind if Live A Live topped the list.

Sastasha is a very 'are you absolutely sure' kind of pick. Like, there's MANY more iconic and visually interesting XIV areas you could fit into FFI's world (Shisui of the Violet Tides for the Sunken Shrine, Hell's Lid or Malikah's Well for Mt. Gulg, Stone/Dusk Vigil for the Ice Cave, really trigger people and go Aurum Vale for Marsh Cave), but if there's any FF dungeon that deserves a punch-up, Sastasha's probably pretty high on that list.
