Book of Boba Fett is great to watch if you're a fan of making fun of stuff because there are just some bewildering choices being made. You also learn that it takes like 20 people to take over/defend a major city on Tattooine.

To be fair, a competent military would be completely out of place in the Star Wars universe

Surely we’ve reached peak Star Wars saturation by now? Are there any more unnecessary backstories they even have left to tell?

the more I feel like laughing.

They are really going to shove every story they possibly can into the interregnum between the original movies and the sequels, aren't they? As long as the money keeps coming in at least.

Something about a lot of Filoni (and Favreau) driven SW shows feels like an overcorrection to the sequels the same way the sequels were an overcorrection to the prequels but people seem to like it enough.

My favorite example of this is always the song Bicycle Race by Queen, which has Freddie Mercury yell out, "Jaws was never my scene, and I don't like Star Wars!" Which seems super random now, until you look back and see the song came out in 1978, and some people were probably super loving tired about hearing about Star Wars back then. Especially when they wrote the song, presumably the year before.

Yeah, he was all over that movie. Not right from the start, but once he showed up, he was the main co-star.

That being said, I doubt they'd make someone who needs subtitles be the main star of anything.

...Holiday Special doesn't count.

They've made a show where you barely see the main characters face already, and baby Yoda can't speak and he's the biggest thing Disney Star Wars has hit on yet. If the spreadsheets show a positive return the mouse will find a way.

They've got to put stories somewhere since they're too scared to set anything after the sequels (and most of the cast of those doesn't want to come back anyway.)

The raid on the yakuza compound at the end of Black Rain always bothered me as a kid because I knew Al Leong and Professor Toru Tanaka weren't Japanese in the slightest. I'd always wondered why the hell they were cast until I learned that Ridley ran out of money because Japan is so difficult to shoot in and there's so much red tape that the studio made him finish shooting in California.

Oooooooooooh!

I dunno how to feel about the show changing her powers until I see it for myself.
I know just regular stretchy powers might look weird in real life and this softens it (almost more of a Green Lantern style "giant glowing objects" effect), but it's definitely something to get used to.
