in the late 1990s. a friend of mine and i came up with the old rhyme, "otis, otis, doddaben notice." doddaben was "don't even" but said in a slurred messed up way. it was pronounced "dode-a-ben," or "dote-a-ben" if you like. after that i'd just say otis sometimes

when i saw lord steven regal waiting in line to enter an aquarium in 1995, he had his chin up high like he knew there might be little kids seeing him, or that he just does that irl and didn't stop doing it just because he was living his life. he was bigger than my dad and a bad guy so i was too scared to go up to him. this is the only time i've seen a wrestler outside of a wrestling setting irl so i bring it up a lot. probably every day
