At the NCAA Wrestling Tournament there are another 500 or so athletes and coaches also with a bunch of additional support people. All told probably at least three thousand people either on the courts/mats or spending hours a day in close contact with those people unmasked. All of these people have just spent time in crowded airports and now are in crowded hotels doing indoor dining for every meal. There will not be a single positive COVID test among any of them because even if someone is symptomatic there is no way in hell they are going to get tested. Where is this happening? Do they do wastewater monitoring?

Etc. etc. etc. Hell it might not happen, there might not be enough liberal support to go the distance over and above ending mandates but I can totally see masks bans as a possibility. Maybe more likely is a limited one targeted at teachers and people in retail and restaurant trades.

No more mask requirements if you're vaccinated (or a liar). All conference rooms wide open, all public spaces wide open, no quarantine required whatsoever if you're exposed and only five days if you're symptomatic or have a positive test. She works in a 64 floor building with 2.3m square feet of leasable space ungodly thousands of people come to work every day, all channeled to the elevator lobby through one set of escalators. Same building I work in but haven't been to in two years. If they start forcing her to come in five days a week she's quitting, that's not negotiable.
