Whether it was open or linear was a bit ambiguous with the first trailer, but as more trailers came out it became more obvious it was more akin to 3D World. Especially when we got better views of the map which turned out to be a level selection screen. Also neat, turns out Kirby has the equivalent of Odyssey's secret coin piles in the game.

I haven't played a (proper) Mystery Dungeon since the DS games for Pokemon. I see Chocobo Mystery Dungeon is on sale, whereas the Pokemon (which is a remake of a game I played) never is. Is Chocobo Mystery Dungeon worth nabbing for 16 bucks?

So that is always an option.

Also I think I gave a list the other day of games I thought really stood out on the OLED Switch but I never mentioned Crusin Blast. I had only ever played it on my original Switch and goddamn it feels like you're playing a PS5 game portably. Everything just pops like crazy (especially if you use vivid mode in the system settings which I love, even though I typically usually hate settings like that on a TV) and the newer speakers are just insane. Play it at full blast, and it actually sounds like the cars are right next to you. I kind of dismissed the new speakers gimmick because at first they didn't sound any louder than the original Switch speakers but now I totally get it. I remember thinking HD rumble was going to be a gimmick and now the Switch is the only console I've ever had where I turn rumble on all the time. The glass screen makes a huge difference too, even though I usually prefer matte or even plastic screens (less likely to get damaged). I even put on a screen protector perfectly but removed it because the glass feels and looks so much nicer and to coat it with plastic felt stupid. About sharing DLC... My wife and I each have a Switch, but only one cart for MK8. I know how to share digital games with each other - does sharing DLC work the same way? I'm trying to figure out if we can get by with only one copy of the MK8 DLC.

It’s a shame that we’re down a bunch of abilities, but the ability evolutions look like they significantly change most abilities - we’ve seen Crash turn into a time freeze ability.

It's a bit harder than Pokemon since there's more dungeons that reset your level, but I think the design is tighter and the different classes are a fun addition. Shiren is in my opinion the best Mystery Dungeon series so I'd give that a look too, although it's definitely the most roguelike-y and least rpg-ish of the various mystery dungeon games.
