It's not the Japanese version, since it doesn't have the wonderful "VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK!" spiel on the title screen. A US version was created for Sega Channel (and later Wii Virtual Console), but my eyes aren't clever enough to tell if it's that or the PAL release.

-Waluigi is moderately speedy & heavy and in the same class as Roy and DK, but he has a smaller hitbox, so he's a meta pick. They're also heavy characters that provide a mini-turbo boost. Metal Mario/Pink Gold Peach also boost mini-turbo w/ a smaller hitbox but they lose speed and gain more weight

-Paper Glider/Parachute/Flower/Cloud Glider provide a boost to mini-turbo, most use paper glider because it's the easiest to see out of
