Yeah, they are pretty strict with security for obvious reasons, I guess. If I didn't have mental health issues in the family that make having a gun around a bad idea i'd be all over them. Pandemic zoom meetings suck too, so reaching out now that in-person stuff is kicking back in gear may be a good idea.

I think if your local DSA group is making good changes in your community then you should stick with them even if you disagree with the totally impotent foreign policy positions of national DSA. National DSA could announce that it's now a Zionist body that proudly endorses the Jewish state of Israel and all its very necessary security measures and it wouldn't change the situation in Gaza at all. National DSA could call for nuclear war with Russia and it wouldn't change the situation in Ukraine at all. National DSA does not have power anywhere, don't worry about it.

i still pay Seattle dues even tho I am not entirely sure they are good. I know they used to be, and there are at least socialists out here to promote vOv

Being around people that can actually recognize that our stupid capitalist structure is broken as all hell is good for mental health at the very least. Even better is doing something to start fixing the problems, but even knowing who locally you can go to if poo poo really hits the fan is a good goddamn idea.

Socialist Alternative is openly dual-carding in DSA and has been for about a year. If you wind up participating in person again, you'll find that DSA and SAlt are gonna be working together on a bunch of stuff.

If I can anti suggest SRA I will. National is a goddamn tire fire. They owe like 18k in taxes to the irs and their budget is worse each month. They owe 50k in dues sharing back pay to the chapters. I don't think it's malice or anything, just incompetence originally. I mean the original budgets were paying the vice pres and a Cohost monthly for a podcast that rarely ever released. (few years ago) the vice pres went on a huge rant about tankies on Twitter and on a livestream and questioning her or the president Alex's decisions would end with you being labeled a transphobe. Our local people are all great, though. Just don't really see the point of a national org that does nothing national SSJ_naruto_2003 has issued a correction as of 15:39 on Mar 11, 2022 |

The only way to salvage the dsa as an org would be show every member that tweet and ask them "does this matter" and if they say yes they're instantly expelled
