I guess the dollop and behind the bastards might be something you like? Basically telling the story of horrible and weird people of history in a funny way. My momma told me ( hilarious, but though provoking black conspiracies. My favorite comedy podcast atm) Deep cover (now season 2, mob land) true crime but each season follows one guy and it gets pretty wild. Timesuck. Not a big fan of his style, but a lot of people love him, and he talks a lot about crazy stories, conspiracies, serial killers etc and is sometimes really funny. But I feel the episodes drag a bit sometimes, haven’t listened in a while though. Operation midnight climax - about the cia men who for years drugged people and ran their very own brothel and it’s pretty loving wild. Wind of change - cia conspiracy about the song. The mlk tapes (who really murdered MLK) Listening to this now. Interesting, had never heard much about this. Mystery team inc. - maybe trying too hard to copy the my favorite murder vibe?

Not really a podcast, but I recently discovered the "Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell" channel on Youtube. It's short videos on questions like "what if earth got kicked out of the solar system", "what if the moon crashed into the earth" and "why blue whales don't get cancer". Using cute and colorful animations. Visually it looks like a kid show, but it does occasionally get complex, so I'm not even sure I would recommend it to kids. More like teenagers. Also the topics are kinda dark and hosed up, mostly. https://www.youtube.com/c/inanutshell/videos There's also a german version channel (Dinge erklärt). I keep posting Youtube-stuff because I feel it attracts the same demographic, and if you don't like video just tab out and do audio-only.

I've been doing a rewatch of Farscape and wondering if there are any halfway decent Farscape podcasts out there. What are my odds?

I'm looking for something to listen to while recovering from migraines. Something soft and soothing with a pleasant-sounding narrator, but interesting enough that it keeps me from falling asleep. Something like Welcome to Night Vale would fit the bill (I'd re-run that, but I'm listening to it with someone now and don't want to spoil that experience). I also wouldn't mind something lightly funny; I like Rude Tales of Magic, but it's too noisy for my post-migraine brain. Non-fiction would be fine too; I find most things interesting, but maybe not topics like true crime or child labor while I'm trying to recover from my head exploding.

Can anyone recommend any good improve podcasts? I used to listen to teachers lounge back in the day and I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life. so preferably a similar vibe?

Assuming you already like Comedy Bang Bang and Hollywood Handbook, a lot of the CBB Presents shows have been in-character improv shows like Teacher's Lounge. You Can't Handle The Sleuths, Hey Randy! (A Randy Snutz Show), Entree PeeE Neur's Entrepreneur Tour, and others. There's also the Gino Lombardo Show. Also the Big Grande group has a bunch of other shows now besides Teacher's Lounge. E1 is the best comedy podcast in general, and they do a mix of improv and scripted stuff. The premise is that every episode is the first and only episode of a different podcast. Here's a good representative episode https://soundcloud.com/episode-one-868768631/136-gone-fishin

Thanks! I'm really enjoying e1! Comedy bang bang is a bit more hit and miss for me. Depending on the guest. Any episode/segment with Andy Daly in it is gold though!

rotinaj posted:Did they ever stop being fixated on the punchline to drat near every joke being “I have multiple buttholes”? I liked Hello From the Magic Tavern and didn't turn against it but yeah it got a bit repetitive and eventually dropped it from my subscriptions. I had a similar opinion of Welcome to Nightvale where it was fun for a while but after a while felt like they spent the top part of the show running through all their catchphrases and it got predictable. Although it is fun playing Jackbox games and hearing Chunt pop up to do voiceovers.

There’s a new scripted fiction podcast called Pretty Dim Wonder. I’d compare it to Welcome to Nightvale, it’s a similar thing about slowly exploring a town that’s a little bit off. But, imo, with better writing and more natural dialogue. https://twitter.com/PrettyDimWonder/status/1514269546500313088?s=20&t=X8JQ4vPasKwqVkep-zvd7g Gripweed fucked around with this message at 16:19 on Apr 14, 2022 |

Looking for podcasts (or youtubes, whichever) that talk about things that are an absolute shambles from start to finish. I want to hear one or more people dryly describing a completely baffling series of decisions with entirely predictable consequences. I don't want to hear about honest mistakes or unfortunate accidents, I want "What did you think would happen" to be the byline. Ideally low stakes, the defunctland fastpass episode would be the gold standard for what I'm looking for.
