Anyone who replaces him now has two more years of Brexit, war and global inflation to ruin their name (Plus whatever other stuff they do by dint of just being a soulless Tory.) They would ahve to bank on things turning around fast to not be tarred by it.

Sorry, I meant "standing for Sunak's ambition", not "standing for the party leadership".

It seems as if not more likely to me, though, that Boris will try running again and put all the blame for the effects of Brexit, pandemic, war etc on the economy and pin the entire disaster on Sunak. The base will lap up any chance they get to bash an Asian.

An old Radiohead chorus comes to mind.

You do it to yourself, just you, you & no one else. You do it to yourself.

Followed by the opening line of the 2nd verse, "Don't get my sympathy"

"They took my family" he wails. No Graham, your family left you because you became dangerously unhinged. Your career doesn't exist anymore because you decided to never work with the BBC or Channel 4 again.

I ordered my regular prescription of insulin two weeks before I needed it, and it still didn't arrive on time. My GPs office is on skeleton staff because everyone is sick or exhausted.

I'm pretty sure the only media he sees are articles sent him by terfs under the auspices of 'look at this, can you believe this is happening' when in reality it's not happening and even if it was most people aren't bothered.

The only thing about it being cancelled I can see is an Express article from 2015 about the time one episode got bumped off it's slot for Wimbledon.

I've got a feeling that's more to do with mental health stuff being generally deprioritised. The image I get from people working in the NHS is that it isn't completely hosed in the same way some people like to claim. Instead, the problem is more that PR-friendly bits just get a disproportionate amount of resources while others are left to fight over scraps. I am friends with a geriatrician and she is consistently mad that her department gets bugger all by comparison to the kiddie wing in the same loving hospital, which has more money than it knows what to do with.

That's actually nuts. It's not like you can just go without. I've weirdly never had any issues getting my repeat prescriptions within a few days of putting them in. Maybe I've just been lucky, maybe standards are just very patchy across the country. Still, I always have made sure I order a smidge more than I need so I can built up a stockpile, and no one will ever convince me it's not an extremely prudent thing to do.

It's OK, I'm covered - Boots called the practice to ask where it had got to and they emailed the scrip half an hour later. If nobody had been there I would have been given an emergency prescription by Boots, but they don't like to do that often.

I forget exactly what info you need to sign up for this. You might have to get something from your local surgery (although that could be for the website).

Once you all signed up you can re order a prescription very easily like wolfsbane says.

Careful there, wouldn't want to set a precedent that breaking the law means you'd have to resign.

That will vary between surgeries/CCGs because FREE MARKET PRIVATE ENTERPRISE - your GP will have a contract with a company than handles their electronic medical records and other functions, and interface with the NHS app, and they all offer a completely different subset of features - e.g. my one will let me order a repeat prescription or book an in-person appointment through the NHS app but not book a telephone appointment, I have to go through the website for that, and if I want a non-GP appointment (e.g. for my annual blood test) I have to actually ring them up.

Yep, that's the one I use. The app that goes with it is https://airmidcares.co.uk/. There's a 'repeat prescription' button you press, and it notifies you when the pharmacy is ready (usually the next day). It's advertised on my GP's website so maybe check if your local GP has something similar?

I literally went a year without handling cash at all because all the shops started encouraging contactless because of covid. Even now I basically only use it for sub-£10 purchases and even then only if the shopkeeper doesn't hold out the reader first.
