Got a standing desk! The complete lack of cables on the floor is so incredibly satisfying, since I went ahead and mounted the power strip to the underside of the desk. Also, you can't see it in the picture but I have my gaming PC mounted into a bracket on the underside of the desk. I've got a KVM switch so I just have to press three buttons to switch from my work laptop to the gaming PC. I still have some incidental cable management to get everything nice and clean but getting to move between sitting and standing all day has been really good for keeping me awake and alert during the work day, especially after lunch.

I have a standing desk and my cable management really needs work. I have 2 laptops and 3 monitors on the desk, plus charging for an iPad and a multi charger for phone/watch/headphones, and a PS4 controller and…it’s a lot of cables. I don’t have room on the desk for the computer/case, and the under-desk shelf thing that I bought for the desk will in no way accommodate the gamer case I have.

I guess I could build my own and attach it…

Dammit.

Going wireless mouse/keyboard/headphones was a great move. Sure I have to charge the headphones every other day or so and the mouse and KB need a battery every few months, but drat if the clean desk isn't worth it.

Also, kind of not pictured, but the back is full of dog food and puppy gear cause I'm gettin a puppy soon :)

Yeah, the headphones are backups for when my AirPods run out of juice at a bad time, because I spend my whole life in meetings.

Plus fans, etc.

Oh hey, I cobbled together an RGB simulator recently too! Same case, but went with an i9-12900k and Radeon 6600XT. I'm so impressed with how ridiculous this processor is, it's able to run windows 10 base install with 0% CPU utilization. I actually maxed out my SSD throughout unzipping a hundred gb vm file, and the cpu utilization was only something like 30%.

Only real gripe is the case is about 30% larger than it really should be, but otherwise it's the nicest case I've had, and the first one I haven't nicked myself on a sharp metal corner. It's been about 10ish years since I put together a desktop and I was dead convinced I'd never do it again, but drat does it feel good to have this much compute at my fingertips

One of our cats has managed to claw not only through the rope on the cat tree, but also through the cardboard so that there's a massive hole in it. It looks like a beaver has been trying to chop it down to build a dam. I kind of wish someone made replacements like these out of solid wood, but for now I'll just keep buying replacements for him to absolutely destroy.

You can sort of glimpse the damage in this picture of him sunning his beans against the window.

Hmm, what have we here?
Some 1$ vinyl. Figured if they weren’t in good shape I could sample pieces here and there but they all sound great and are neat:

The Anita Kerr Singers. Smooth and warm, I got this to chop up and make beats and I find myself just sitting there listening to it.

Idk, this guys face sold this one. Mostly instrumental and chill, another one I surprisingly dig.

The Maxell Jazz Sampler II. Sounds good, one dollar, looks like a cool piece of music history. Sold.

Then some not-1$ albums I’ve been waiting for them to rerelease:

I also built a new PC recently and also stuffed it full of unnecessary RGB. Like, I don't even game or anything, I just wanted to make it ridiculous looking. But I didn't do my research and so my RAM isn't controllable by iCUE, and so not everything is sync'd up. I may just swap the G.Skill stuff out for some Corsair RAM and take the loss on selling the G.Skills on at a substantial discount. Cus like, it all needs to work together. Also I need to add a couple more fans I think. For aesthetics, not cooling. It's only an i5 12600k and 3050, but there's a Lum in it, so there's that.

Minicurve and I went in together on a PC with the fancy lights and the SSD and the 12gb graphics card and whatnot, the novelty of the rainbow lighting show wears off in about a day.

But anyway, if you have both gone with Nvidia and windows 11 then you have to absolutely get the latest update on the driver, about 2 weeks ago the update fixed an issue where the card was running super hot on a lot of games.

Is this a V6? My wife has a 2017 SE 4cyl CVT and it's pretty dull, I was wondering what the V6 would be like.

Fuel efficiency of the 4cyl is really nice, though.

It's the V6 and I'm definitely not left wanting for power. Gas mileage is decent only when cruising.
It's my understanding that the V6 uses a standard 6spd auto box and not the 4cyl CVT
