This was forever ago, but guys regularly pocketed large quantities of both and spent the weekend getting hammered and crying afterwards. Ether has that weird unique side affect that makes you want to sob when it wears off.

jesus christ, never drink the 100% ethanol, those guys were absolute idiots. the way to get 100% ethanol is that you mix water, ethanol, and benzene, which boils off at 65 C, then when it stops distilling the heads, the bottoms comes across as 99.9% ethanol with benzene contaminants, which is basically a "let's get cancer" sort of drink. you steal the 95% ethanol to drink.
