There's some popular hikes near here in a provincial park that got extra popular over covid, and the trails got wrecked from overuse. There were also issues with the parking areas being too small and causing bad traffic problems. So they've closed the trails this summer to expand parking and refurbish and improve the trails to handle heavier foot traffic. You'd think people could handle it. Possibly even call it a "good idea". But nope, because it's fuckin Alberta, social media is full of people screaming about government tyranny and control.

One thing that occurred to me, which is vaguely terrifying now that we have Qanon fucks asking children with their parents in stores if they are being child trafficked, is when I was young enough that I needed help in the bathroom and with just my mom she would take me into the women's bathroom with her, and my understanding is Dads with toddler girls take them into the men's room and what this gender psychosis is going to do to parents of young different gender children. Or really, just any parent accompanying their child in the bathroom.

Has anyone interviewed or done any articles on school debate clubs since the whole "debate me right now" became such a right wing bastion of thought? Specifically the teachers, club organizations,etc. Or is it a forgone conclusion the articles always end with interviewee instinctively going into debate mode and starts spitting out millions of statements with little chance for the interview to respond to them all.

It's pretty much the only format in which you can have a conversation with someone who is not a nazi* and come off as the "winner." You can have a tally at the end and have someone say you got more points. *Note that they will never debate anyone who actually knows how to deal with them. Jordan Peterson thought he could debate an actual smart person and got bodied so hard he went into a coma. Ben Shapiro got interviewed by one of the UK's most prolific gammons and threw a tantrum, called the guy a liberal, and walked out, all because the guy tried to engage a statement he'd made instead of jerkin him off while lobbing softballs. Steven Crowder literally panicked and slammed  because he got tricked into going on call with Sam Seder.They only ever debate each other or a list of acceptable "leftists" that is ever shrinking because they either figure out how to expose them as clowns, or, like Destiny, make it too obvious how much they fuckin love nazi platforms and platforming nazis.
