My experience with FaB is I saw a ton of people going crazy for it on social media and youtube, hype it to high heaven for the first US event, proudly exclaim how well it did at the first US event, and then never ever speak about it again.

For MTG related content, Mark Rosewater put out an article today saying Cycling is now a deciduous mechanic so they can use it more frequently in sets without cycling as a main mechanic. That's pretty cool and good, it's a good mechanic to be able to use whenever they feel like it will work.

It was certainly ravaged and dominated by them (at least enough that they had giant slave camps), but I don't think it was ever confirmed to be fully destroyed or if that's just what we've inferred from Elspeth's experiences.

Gavin Verhey put out a video with some hints about New Capenna and I don't think it was posted here. He goes over the five factions: Bant = Corrupt Lawyers, Esper = Precog Crime Unit, Grixis = Art in the front, assassins in the back, Jund = Construction, Naya = Jazz partying influencers. There's some random hints too, one of which stood out to me was that there's tons of returning one-of mechanics, including one that surprised Gavin to see.

- Various rulers of New Capenna are moving their own plots forward, mostly related to the supply of "Halo" that everyone relies on - everyone is worried about the dwindling supply of Halo since all the angels are gone.
- There's someone called "The Adversary" who is stirring things up among the underclasses and recruiting people to their cause - this is probably Ob Nixilis since he's referred to as a "newcomer".
- The history of New Capenna and the founding of the city is something of a secret deliberately kept hidden or erased from memories. There's no natural landscape outside of the city walls.
- Vivien is there looking for something, ends up running into Tezzeret who convinces her to willingly come with him to meet Urabrask who is on the plane and fighting "on the side of freedom". Vivien senses that there's something wrong with the plane as in it feels fake and unnatural.
- Elspeth arrives on New Capenna because Ajani told her that it was her home plane, but it looks nothing like what she remembers. The last time Elspeth was on her home plane OG Phyrexians were in charge there, so something must be up.

I'm guessing this is another Rath type situation where the Phyrexians clean slated a plane to use it for their own reasons? Urbrask being there is pretty interesting, and since all the angels are gone but Atraxa (the compleated angel from New Phyrexia) is in some of the art that probably has something to do with it as well.

There's more in the second story. Also there were some nuanced lines about 'new' Capenna city being founded by cutting it off from everything below it. So what I expect is there's some magical seals in the undercity and the rest of the plane outside it is full of dormant phyrexians. Urabrask is there to unseal things and link up with the OG phyrexians and the factions will have to quit jockeying and come together to fend them off.

Yeah I didn't get to read the side story until after work, definitely sounds like there is something going on underneath/outside the city. I wonder if Urabrask is doing his own thing or following orders from Elesh Norn.
