So he was able to arrange experiments with more varied diets inside certain ships and used the regular fleet as control. Sure enough he figured it out, but the army told him to gently caress off they wont stop eating just rice and welp half of their war dead in the russo-japanese war was because of beriberi.

This have anything to do with how the Japanese army and navy were all but at war with each other?
