It depends on the jurisdiction but that’s basically right for the UK: IIRC the standard is “no reasonable director could have made that decision”, which is really, really high. The directors would have to do something extreme like cut prices to zero while simultaneously hiring twice as many staff before a court would even think of overturning their business judgement, and even then it would be touch and go (maybe it’s a high risk marketing plan?), although at that point their creditors might start asking pointed questions about their ability to service debts as they fall due. The rule is really there to stop directors looting the company for their private benefit; situations like signing an exclusive supply contract with a company you own at 50% over market price, at which point the shareholders will say “no, that’s a breach of your fiduciary and statutory duties, you need to pay all that money back to the company” and there’s a reasonable chance the courts would agree.

It's just when people post a vid (I'm assuming) using the mobile app (like in the post I quoted) it must auto embed for them but not for me (on pc). Yeah, if you quote the relevant posts you can see that the ones allowing as URLs are wrapped in URL tags and the embedded videos are wrapped in videos tags; they're doing exactly what the poster in question told them to do, nothing to do with any settings. E: no, it appears the same in the app as well, URL tags as URLs and video tags as embedded videos.
