I don't even really understand what the point of "stop zero COVID" would be in the first place. No more testing people? No more telling people to stay at home (and feeding them for doing so)? No more quarantining known infected people away from the rest of the uninfected population? That only that results in is more sick people. That's worse than continuing to try to pursue the program. If there's some local government out there whose implementation of zero COVID is lax and hole-ridden enough that it's not stopping infections the way it should, that's a problem, but that's not a "therefore stop trying" problem.

And that's after a double shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine. I got lucky and avoided covid during the first big wave, when almost my whole line at my job at the time caught it before vaccines became an option, but my luck didn't hold out forever.

lol, I know nobody cares, but just an update: my wife got approved for the greencard, and somehow returned here without being quarantined or anything. this whole process has been one of the most stressful things of my life, so I'm glad that it's finally over. I just hope that covid doesnt mutate into mega death and kill everyone before we can go, lol.
