Langley, WA is overrun with domestic bunnies that escaped into the wild some number of years ago. Can't walk 20 feet in spring or summer without seeing one basking in a yard or munching on a vegetable garden. It is very blessed.

While this is true of a small handful of places, in most places thats someones pet and is likely to die unpleasantly in the wild. Call your local bunny rescue (will frequently drive across the state or into another one once we hear about a thing like this) and they will know how to handle it. The Bunny Brigade is great

I don't know if he was a wild bunny or someone's abandoned pet, but we had a bunny who lived in our neighborhood for like 7 years. At the neighbors next door he was Fred and they did likewise. When we first found him we tried putting up signs and stuff being like "found lost bunny" but no one ever called us and Thumper seemed to be doing well wandering between all the houses so we let him do his thing. Thumper unfortunately passed away last spring though but he was at least 7 years old cause he was full grown when we found him. One of the neighbors was cool enough to bury him in their garden and he has a lil homemade plaque and everything. He was there both times I was at the facility, 6 months apart. I'm not going to go steal a rabbit from a bunch of nuns.
