I did an eVisit about my dry cough and my pcp said they are seeing a lot of people with this along with some white spots in the back of the throat, but they are covid negative. he said it's acute bronchitis, but if it doesn't resolve in the next week to let him know. it's very minor at this point with only a few coughs every several hours.

Don't like the persistent low level infection hypothesis for long COVID at all. It suggests there's a lot of people walking around incurring cumulative damage to various tissues and organs where the virus might be hiding out and slowly replicating. It would be an actual ticking time bomb of disease burden. But persistent infections clearly happen to some people and esp immunocompromised people. Maybe it's just most visible in their cases. It'd be great if antiviral therapeutics could potentially help, but it's something that needs to be worked out quickly. OTOH giving therapeutics to people that can't entirely clear the virus seems like a good way to select for a therapeutic resistant variant. edit: Goobish posted:Just tested positive again tonight, gently caress my life LOL.
