A proper fire blanket is made of fiberglass and works pretty well for putting out grease fires by smothering them. Unfortunately, tossing (presumably cotton) tablecloths on a grease fire is not the same thing. Especially if someone else is also throwing random cups of water on the flaming grease at the same time.

A rug or even a cotton tablecloth can be enough of a blanket to put out a fire, YMMV. OTOH even the best fire blanket is unlikely to do the job if you just toss it over the fire and don't seal it because the fire gases will lift the blanket otherwise as seen in the video. It helps if you have mandatory fire safety training where you get to practise putting fire out!
